The Boa closure on those Dainese pads looks dope. They've been putting Boa on snowboard boots and cycling shoes for years, makes total sense on body armor.

They look "sleek". Your thoughts about foam as protection?

Dainese knee pads look interesting especially if it makes easier to take on and off!

it is about time for me to upgrade ancient 661 suit and uncomfortable Roach knee/shin pads to something sleekier for not only dh also dirt and light freeride.
Depends on the foam. Both POC and Sweet Protection (big Kayak brand, new to MTB - in the states yet?) are running very nice 'foam' based goods - both working very nicely for me at the moment. In fact I'm in a strange position of having my elbows now much better protected than my knees (POC VPD vs. 661 KS)

I use the TLD 5400 knee pads for moto and trail riding. Its unbelievable how well they stay in place with no straps. However I'm not sure I'd wear them for true DH.
