Is the lower part over of the avid code levers 2012 just bellow the pad contact adjustment meant to move every time you squeeze the lever? The lower part of both levers moves side to side slightly I am unsure as to weather that is normal. There are no leaks and they work fine. Is this normal?

I have this kind of movement on my X0-Levers with code calipers too.
They work fine...for now...unless they have completely re-engineered the code brake...and gotten all the bugs out of them...then they are a very high maintenance, short lived brake...I think they are seriously over priced for what they offer...they are smooth as silk, they modulate wonderfully, and they have lots of sexy adjustments...buy mine needed constant bleeding and eventually the left lever just fell apart internally...Hayes Stroker Ace have been awesome...not as many bells and whistles...but they are totally SET AND FORGET and strong as hell...I'll never by another SRAM brake...I think the whole line is over priced junk.
