GES Launch partnered Dual Cross race # 2 is happening this weekend on Saturday June 23 at the Spring Mountain Ski area in Spring Mount PA.

Jason Beckley and Colby Barth have been hard at work this week tweeking the course and adding some new features to a course that was very well received and enjoyed by the racers at the first race on May 26.

All Races count as qualifiers for USA Cycling Dual Slalom National Championships for 2012 and 2013​

Dual Cross racing is back in the East for 2012 with construction of the dual course well underway at Launch Bike Park at the Spring Mountain PA. Ski area. The Gravity East Series (GES) has partnered with Launch Bike Park to build a dual course and host five races for the 2012 race season. Details as follows;

Race Dates:

Saturday - June 23, 2012

Saturday - August 11, 2012

Saturday - September 15, 2012

Saturday - October 13, 2012

Race day Schedule for all 5 races:

No Online Registration for the Dual events

Entry Fees;

PRO $40.00 AMATEUR $30.00

Registration - 8:30am – 11:30am

Course open for practice - 8:30am – 12:30pm

Riders meeting - 12:45pm

Timed seeding runs - 1:00pm

Elimination runs 1 hour after seeding runs are completed.

Awards ceremonies ASAP after last elimination run.

Format;

* Dual Cross course incorporating Mountain Bike features.

* Timed qualifying run for seeding (all racers qualify).

* Double elimination (Winner of loser’s bracket Races for 3rd).

* USAC license required. One day licenses will be available at registration.

PRO PRO/CAT 1 OPEN

CAT 1 OPEN (19+) CAT 2/3 OPEN

CAT 1 JUNIOR (15-18) 14 & UNDER Open

CAT 2/3 OPEN (19+)

CAT 2/3 JUNIOR (15-18)

14 & UNDER Open

This is not a point series so categories will be open to revision based on number of riders and category size.

PRO purse minimum $300 per event plus medals for top 3 finishers in each category and product prizes as available.

Hey all, we are in partnership to keep Dual alive in the east and this track will only get better and better, over the season/years, so please if you can it is a one day event and will be a permanent Dual track year after year. If the attendance goes the way of most Dual events then the cost exceeds the ability of the venue to keep it going so please Pittsburgh is close, there must be a crazy number of riders, so please share this with your Dual friends........Thank You from the entire GES staff and the Launch Bike Park staff.

Alot of work done on the course this week. Improved berms, lowered starting gate, new rock feature - come out enjoy and keep Dual alive! Medals for all, $$ for Pros and Maxxis tires and other goodies for amateurs.
