Yeah DS is a pain to manual- you have to pump and use the suspension to your advantage. It's pretty tricky- I finally got the manual on my DS a little while ago.

rear brake is not your friend, rear brake is for emergencies only, smooth manuals come from wrapping all your fingers around the grips and concentrating on balance. I finally learned this last fall and my manual distance has quadrupled.
