Anyone run a chain guide on their Trance? I'll dump the big ring if I have too since I really only use it for chainsawing logs.

There's no ISCG tabs so I'll need some sort of sandwich deal.

You could go with a clutch derailleur or a chainstay guide.

I've run both an e13 LG1 with bb adapter and a Gamut P30 with no problems on my Trance XO

You're good to go with the E13 stuff from my experience. I ran an LG1 and XCX on my Trance Advanced SL before switching to 2x10. Front shifting doesn't suck anymore, sweet!

ive a hemi 2 ring guide on a 2x 10 setup it works fairly well but doesnt like when you pedal backwards. Once you pedal forward it pops back on the the big ring

Yes, works great. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Ran one on my Nomad for a trip to the alps last year and didn't lose my chain once.

I ran a MRP BB Mount on my older Trance.

The MRP Lopes BB mount is an excellent AM/XC guide.
It offers no bash protection but I havent had any issues. I run a Chromag 32T single ring set up and have hit it a few times off the granite with no bad effects. Its lightweight, easy to set up and generally maintenance free.
