The pro/expert course was won in 3:48 by Specialized Pro Chris Herndon. The winning expert time was a 4:12 by Spoke80. Most expert times were in the high 4s and low 5s.

Herndon's time divided into 1.7 miles equals roughly an average of 29 miles/hr. Think of that course (waterfall, freeride section, upper rock garden, and the steeps) at that speed. SCARY! Heck my time was around 24 miles/hr.

Couple photos that show a little of the steepness. The guys at Harpers have a whole bunch of footage from both days of the race. Saw it today. There's a guy down there making a little vid of it. I'll see if I can get a copy and post it.

Must be nice. Our local courses here in WA are often 2:30 or less for pros, and they're not very intense, either.

Well. I went a specialist today and I have a fractured distal of my humerus, which is a crack in the ball of my shoulder. Hopefully that is it and in 6 weeks I'll be back. I am scheduled for a MRI to see if there is any damage to the rotator cuff. I hope not, if so then it might be surgery and 4-6 months!

TG, I crashed in my race run in the water slide area after the V-rock and hard left hand berm. My arm was getting really weak by that point and I lost control of the bike. Then I crashed again in the little rock arden just before the last road crossing.

Whoa, sorry Doug.
I thought you just had a sore shoulder like mine was last week.
That stinks man, I hope you heal up quick!
My body was all worked before I even got to Windrock last weekend. :p
Let that joker heal up proper.
Are you in a sling or anything?

Yeah, I was in a sling the first day, then after the first doc told me that the x-ray was negative I stopped wearing it and I started doing shoulder range of movement excerises to keep the muscle from getting stiff. Good thing I saw an orthopedic doc today because he said moving it was the worst thing to do for it. So I'm back in the sling. I am really hoping that I didn't do any damage to my rotator cuff. That will be surgery and no riding until the winter! I will see you guys this Saturday, but I won't be racing. I have my eye on the Sept. Windrock race. I think the series points thing is out of the window however. :(

Yo, I'll be praying for you on the rotator cuff deal. You don't want to have go that route for sure.
Hopefully, you can be back in September! I am already looking foward to that race!
Don't sweat it man, local series points mean exactly :oink: poo.

Well, look at this way then. The only real Dh course you are gonna miss out on is Sugar.
So, just heal up for the last Windrock and you'll be straight.
I am already wanting to head back up there, so drink milk and stuff. :thumb:

Yup, upper section before the road crossing. there was a big tree down there a few days before the race. The old line was off of those rocks directly behind you in the shot, but most of it got washed out with all the rain we had in june. Joey is talking of rebuilding it. I never was really fast off of it, but it was interesting and just added another fun line to take - that mountain is full of different lines through almost every section. I kept trying different lines through the baby rock garden but they were all slower than my original way of staying left and high. But I suck at racing anyways - turn into jo-jo the idiot boy with my fluffy new pet and then I crash.
