    The Specialized Epic Joke Continues

Now I understand exaaaaaactly what you're looking for. In the way of facts, I mean.

    The Specialized Epic Joke Continues

All tires are round. All rims have spokes. All frames are welded. All gears shift. All brakes stop. All shocks compress, and rebound again. Do you really think its just that simple?

    The Specialized Epic Joke Continues

What kind of facts are you looking for? Since our collective knowledge here seems to be well beneath yours, educate us. I mean, I guess we should be leary of reviews from independent sources comparing 5, 10, even 15 different bikes at once. Or the information from factory reps on what a bike...

    Pot Smoking Rastafarians

Good post above. BTW- Anyone who can prove by birth that they are of teh Rastafarian religion are free to smoke pot in the US, (Freedom of religion.) THey msut do so in their house or place of worship. Here's the catch. Its still illegal to purchase, solicit to purchase or possess pot...

    Teach me about suspension.

I agree with your fork suggestion. I feel a rider could find more options by shopping for a variable travel 80mm fork (most are adjustable between 63mm and 80mm) but for Urban riding I think a 100 mil fork would rock. I actually agree with more of your second post. I am a firm believer that...

    Teach me about suspension.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the majority of Carbon Fetish's post. (Not entirely, just the OPINIONS of efficiency.) Check the thread about lockouts. Lots of good information there. Carbon- I'd love to debate with you over FS rides when I have time. You sound like you know about bikes...

    Working on POS bikes.

You are right about POS bikes keeping a shop in business. They are always breaking. It does get frustrating when the customer just can't understand how their bike broke again (not the same problem/part) when they just spent $60, $80, $100 or whatever to fix their bike. At some point they...

    Too much emphasis on lockout?

Oh and BTW, the engineer I spoke of, yeah, he designed the NRS technology.

    Too much emphasis on lockout?

Good point. Giant's chief suspension designere was hired in from a truck company ( I think it was Toyote) where he designed suspension for 4x4 trucks. Needless to say, he probably knows a thing or two about suspension. In fact, he went so far as to tell the bike industry, in a round-about...

Should my wheel be all the way in my dropout?

Something is wrong. You need to check your tire. Make sure everything is on properly. Your 2.1 might be too wide for your bike. At any rate yes, your wheel should be all the way in its drop out.

    Too much emphasis on lockout?

I think maybe we need to clarify what a lockout on an FS is supposed to accomplish, then we can move on. *****A lockout increases efficiency byreducing unwated motion in any suspension system. This helps to eliminate power put into the pedal being absorbed by the supsension, instead of...

Would I be justified in hitting a guy...

who ran into me with his brand new, Chevy Blazer, while I was ridding home the other night. I was wearing a reflective vest, had a tail light and a headlight on, was all the way over on the shoulder and even his girlfriend was screaming at him to watch out. I'm fine, he barely grazed me...

    Separation of Church and State

Good or bad? Since the further separation one could argue that the countries morals have deteriorated into drivel. (Columbine, rampant STD transmission, increased drug abuse, increased teenage suicide <over last 50 years>, increased teenage sex and pregnancy.) OR One could argue that...

    The Specialized Epic Joke Continues

when looking at "new" suspension technology (front or rear) is that sometimes technology has to catch up with ideas. The FS XC market has enjoyed some amazing inovations over the last 4 years. Just a few examples of designs that marked a significant imporvement in creating an efficient, XC...

    Bush on Iraq...

Personally, I sometimes want to anihalate the entire mid-east and be done with it. Then I calm down and realize its no solution at all... We can't move forward without the support of the UN. I feel it would be a dire mistake to do so. The UN is the closest thing to a check and balance...

    Speaking of horrible, horrible ideas...

Ok, if teaching 85,000 pilots how to safely use a gun will cost $900 million +$250 mill a year, what do you suppose a voice activated, voice recongition, remote access control, with automatic tampon remover, gadget will cost?
