I want to buy a Park Tool pro stand and base (big sucker...) available on Craigslist but won't be around there till August...no one can grab it and store if for me, can they? I think everyone evacuated that area, didn't they?
Doubt it but thought I'd ask... @lovebunny, where you living these...
I am living in most everyone's future and don't know whether to end the Sunday or start the Monday.
Here's an ill defined mix of espresso and steamed milk, tho.
So the sitch is I am coming back to work in SF out of a downtown office adjacent to Embarcadero BART. It's a three or four year assignment, but I am eligible to retire after two years, and it makes huge financial sense to do so...picking up a reasonably big retirement annuity as early as...
I wanna use a half link on my singlespeed.
Any options for direct mount SRAM, pref 30t?
I found a stainless 31t which would work from Olson bikes but the shipping is the same as the ring...that said, not unmanageable. (And an extra 1t up front would prob obviate the need for the half link...
Who the fuck are these people??! I mean, spending that much on a dropper lever itself is beyond me, but US-made, quality, got it, not chafed...but look at why he's selling it! Who got time and money for THAT?!
I see so many expensive components being sold...even forks...for color-matchiness...
Anyone know if this is possible? No RS support for it but I have read that a 27.5" 120mm/26" 130mm air spring will do the trick. (2016 model in my case...)
Or can I cut and re-tap an existing air shaft?
I don't know enough about the air spring mechanism and the placement of the air transfer...
Title says it all...aside from an $80 Wolf Tooth, anyone know of a 46t narrow/wide with some inward offset and a 5/110 pattern?
I single-ringed my roadie w an 11-40 out back. Like the setup, but even with a chain guide, it could use some more retention...
Our Denver office might have an opening for me two years from now. (Yeah, weird job...things happen slowly...)
I know prices are through the roof, but where would be a good place to live out there? The office is in Greenwood Village. Kiddo would be in high school, and definitely put a priority...
What knee pads are still made without a sleeve so that they're easy to put on after the climb? I don't want to climb with them, remove my shoes to put them on, or pull the pads on over my muddy Sidis.
Velcroing a wraparound two-piece sleeve around would be fine...
I have a set of Leatts...
K, so I ordered what was supposed to be a 120mm air spring for a 2019 Pike (allegedly; purchased used).
PN 00.4020.552.004 ordered and that's what it says on the package.
But after installing, I really only get 110mm out of it. Spent a week messing with things; the internet told me I...
I am setting up a spare wheelset with some light tires for climb-y days. Identical hubs to the primary set.
Currently running an NX Eagle cassette, obvs w HG freehub. Would an XD driver freehub and GX (or higher) cassette maintain the same cog spacing , or would I be messing around with my...
Seeking a 7.875x2.25 / 200x57mm shock for a 2016 Reign for a local newbie rider whose air shock is totally kaput. Found a few prospects on Pinkbike but if there's something laying around your shed, like an ancient Fox Vanilla or something you can let go cheap, lemme know.
Ok, lacing a front wheel and the disc side flange is larger than the drive. 32h, planned on 3x. Drive side laced fine 3x but on the disc side, the trailing spokes actually will cross the head of preceding spoke like so
If I just do 2x, it seems to work ok angle-wise and length looks OK...
So what's everyone's choice these days for a non-full-face? I have an older Fox that rattles around a lot when the trail gets rough, unless it's set painfully tight, and even then it likes to shift. I have a skate-style lid that's a little better at staying in place, but not vented.
Would...
Anyone seen this? The latest attempt at a bicycle steering damper, apparently intended for e-bikes and bikepackers... I remember a few tries at dampers before, but nothing that stuck around. People always lauded them when they tested them, though. (Then again what media outlet doesn't laud...
Re-homing the loaner Turner; 2.0 stroke shock needs a lighter spring for new owner. Thinking 450ish is the right spring for a 155 lb rider. Anyone have anything in that range they'd part with cheap? $37 for a new one seems silly given the number of unused old springs I'm sure we have amassed...
So, group:
My Sovereign hardtail is feeling way weird and awkward after a year or three of riding more updated geometry F/S bikes. I used it as everything from a techy descender to a fully-rigid singlespeed.
Considering a successor, but wondering what's on the market in an all-round capable...
Looking at 211 series. Taiwanese-made, light, 3 degrees engagement, supposed to be super easy to service, anti-bite on the HG freehub, color choices... Anyone used them? They're super cheap but several wheel build places offer them with high marks. Wondering if they could actually be a true...
Stiction, stiction, stiction in mah 36mm singlecrown forks, even after lubing. (older xfusion Vengeance, late-model Yari with a Lyrik damper in it...)
I would love to try a bushing resizer tool, but cost-effective options all seem to be off the market...?
