True Loco-gringo. The only reason I was thinking of putting a factory replacement on is because its cheap and so far this is the only time they've let me down. If i stumble upon some nicer ones for a good price I'd def consider going that rout tho. Thanks for the help.
The tab and rest of the caliper surprisingly looks all intact. It probably did break but I have no clue why it did. I'm just one of those guys that hates buying something like a new caliper, even if its less than $20, just because of a little spring. The spring hunt continues.
Yea the second LBS I went to today said they are Lee Chi, and can order a new from caliper for only $16 so i'll probably go that route. I did make one out of stainless 3/32" rod today but it doesnt seem to open the caliper 100% only like 90% so I doubt ill keep it on there.
Any help would be appreciated!
Yesterday on a 40 miler that ended up being super hilly my front brake decided it wasn't happy with any hills and gave me the finger by throwing its return spring out onto the road :( , I saw it fly off and looked for it for a good 15 minutes with no luck. Its a...
ha yea i've used google earth for years, not always for looking up routes, but never knew about the elevation readout until recently. Theres a ton of useful stuff on that program that no one knows about and prob never will lol.
Rip - 207 miles! wow dude keep up the good work, thats some...
well i just found the elevation indicator a few days ago actually. On google earth its at the bottom center of the picture and changes its elevation to wherever you put the mouse. And yea, its definitely handy
Trying "unknown" roads is also pretty fun. I'n Ohio atleast, theres quite a few hills in my area and I usually map out routes on roads I've driven down atleast once so I know how hilly they are. But when I last teathered a few of my routes together I was using some roads I'd never been on but...
Ruffles I'm at a similar point. I have a few different routes I take for rides and theyr getting slowly too short. I try winding around but I ended up tethering a few of my routes together to make for an exhaustingly good 35 miler. Which for now seems to be a good distance.
Thanks for the good words guys! Ive always been a big guy, I used to play football and have a lineman's build....aka not the average road cyclists body lol. I'd love to at least get down to 250lbs or even 240 would be great, hell if I ever loose more than that I'd be speechless.
Ive been...
Still a new guy here, but I just wanted to say I'm riding more lately and have ridden about 80 miles this week. A 23 mile ride, a 27, and a 31 mile today! ....and at 6'1" 305 lbs, this makes me feel like superman right now hahaha :D:D:D I just wanted to share my accomplishments!
hmmm thanks, ill be heading down to the bike shop later so ill be sure to get some opinions down there. Ive heard decent things actually about the vittoria zaffiro. yea i know they come in colors and are a cheaper tire, but have been told they hold up great for their price of around $15.
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hello:wave: Hopefully I find some tricks and tips on here that can help me out on tuning my 08 Trek 1.5.
About 2 years after buying my camaro I took out the back seat bottoms.... yep found a homemade "tobacco pipe" made from hardware store parts wrapped in a bit of foil. thank god it never got impounded or anything with that still there.
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum but have been reading up for a while and have not been able to find what i'm looking for using the search function. Anyways down to my question... Im looking for a new rear tire. My current tire is a Bontrager Select K B and is fairly flattened out in the...
