Cheers, thanks for the input. Good to know I'm not crazy for thinking of running 25mm rims - seems like an area where the fast guys know something that others are potentially missing as far as tire profile/support. Think I'll go for the EX471 option since they are in stock locally, and a little...
After reading too much NSMB for the past couple years I decided to order a Geometron G1 to complement my Santa Cruz Chameleon hardtail. First full-suspension since owning a Blur 4X and Morewood Izimu DH bike over 10 years ago, why not go all-in on weird new school geo that I couldn't test ride...

Selling my trusty 57.5 Skeletor in pursuit of something better suited to my riding now that I'm not racing any more. It's served me quite well over the last year or so; if it's any indication my new steel bike has almost identical geometry with a taller headtube and longer stays...
I am working on a friend's bike and a small spring was sticking out of his left shifter which is disconcerting. Ultegra 6700 double front. Included is a pic of the spring which I didn't immediately recognize and Shimano's schematic wasn't much help. Any leads? For what it's worth he crashed this...
Selling a Cane Creek 100 1 1/8" standard press-fit threadless headset. Sealed cartridge bearings top and bottom, fantastic headset overall. Used minimally a couple years ago, has been sitting unused since - I have an integrated HS bike now but I've been holding onto it "just in case". $40...
That thing seems to be the antithesis of the way that Skeletor should be set up. Cool frame but I wonder if the guy would have been better off with less of a race bike and more of a comfort road bike.
Try again. According to Mavic they have stopped supporting many of the older Ksyrium models, and spokes aren't/won't be available. Down with proprietary senseless crap!
The Mavic freehub body design kind of sucks, and their stuff isn't particularly good in any one sense. Average weight, poor aerodynamics, expensive to service, but most of their wheels are strong.
The Dura-ace wheels I have (one generation older) have been just OK. 1 cracked rear rim, 1 broken...
That sand looks crazy. I haven't done any CX races yet but they look super fun, I might have to build up a bike and learn how to ride it by next season. Nice work man!
No pics but I did a full moon night ride last night to the top of the mountains here in SB. No lights needed for the climb it was so bright. Descending at night is cool since you can see headlights coming way in advance.
Sounds like you should pick up on everything pretty quick man. Remember not to take road riding too seriously and have fun!
I'm pretty sure you'll have to start in D's, not sure what the requirements are though or if they vary in different conferences. Just FYI Collegiate C correlates with Cat...
