Looking for some help here from the Monkey, about to buy a Scout but it looks like I'm right between a small or medium, i'm pretty sure i would prefer the Medium as the small seems, well, Small. (406 reach) i'm 5'6" on a good day with short legs, longer torso, will the medium with 50mm stem be...

One of the best things about living in LA is the variety of culture and how much there is to explore. I had an appointment at Merle Norman Cosmetics today and I learned the story of the company from a very nice purchasing agent. Merle Nethercutt Norman started making cosmetics in her home in...
I had a bike stolen a few days ago so I've been perusing Craig's List a bunch and have noticed that, along with all the crappy bikes, there's actually some pretty good deals. I will post up the decent bikes I find as I search for my stolen bike.
small 2009 turner DHR, complete, only $1800...
If you live on the westside, please be on the lookout for my Black Market Riot, stolen this morning while i was swimming laps at the Santa Monica Swim Center at SMC. Yes the bike was locked, and it was parked about 50' from the SMC Police kiosk, one lady even saw the thief cutting my lock and...
I took a pretty heavy hit and dented the outboard BB shell. Cranks rotate freely and there's no binding yet but I'm guessing the bearings won't last much longer? Do i need to replace the BB or should i just run it till it explodes?
Pro GRT hits N* the weekend of June 26th, looking for anybody around LA who's planning on hitting this race to share travel and lodging. Should be a great race on a new course.

I have a Juicy 7 Lever, can I use a Juicy 5 caliper? My Juicy 7 caliper broke and I don't want to have to buy a whole new brake if I don't need it. I have an old Juicy 5 caliper, i don't see why it wouldnt work.
thanks!
i have an IH 6point that is being powder coated and I want to get new pivots and bearings but IH phone is dead and RS cycles does not have anything. Does anybody know of a shop that may still have a pivot kit? Also, there are 4 bearings that have an elongated flange, I cannot find any bearing...
Here are 2 POV's a buddy and I did of LiveWire at Northstar. The trail is fun, the resort is amazing. The plan is to have footage, top to bottom and nonstop, of every trail there. Had some camera difficulties so only got half the trails this trip but I will be back to get the rest next...
I'm running Juicy 7's currently and am thinking about new brakes. Are the Elixir CR's a better brake than the Juicy's? Anybody else made the same move and are you happy you did?
Thanks!
Noah, others,
I have to be in Santa Barbara for work this Thursday and Friday but I should be done by 4 on thursday and 2 on Friday so I'm thinking about bringing the trail bike and getting some riding in on one of the days. Can anybody point me in the direction of the best AM riding up...
Long story short, the cable lock that I use to lock my bikes up in my apartment has broken. the funny thing is that the lock broke while locked, i cannot get to my bikes. quit laughing, it's not funny. Do any of you monkeys have a cable cutter that I can borrow? the cable is HUGE, 1" in diameter.
apparently he got into a spiders nest during our walk yesterday and was bitten 4 times on his cheek. He's on antibiotics and seems to be doing really well, but DAMN, i feel like a dick for not being able to protect him. BTW, this look WAY better than it did when I brought him home.

I'm planning a trip up there next weekend by myself and am looking for some peoples to ride with. Don't think I'll have too much problem finding people at N*, but was wondering if there's anybody planning to ride Downieville on Sunday or Monday. Never been there so any advice on...
A couple of us rode Mammoth this weekend and I thought I'd post general impressions and that other would as well. I spoke with most of the bike park guys and they all seem to want to make the bike park better, so maybe some constructive critiques would help. I'm going to comment on the trails as...
