try softer pads. My reign did the same thing. I got softer pads and cleared right up. Avids do squeal and howl like a banshee though, so you might just have to get used to the sound. As far as pumping the lever to get them to stop, the system definitely needs bled.
I was attempting to bleed my Avid Juicy brakes. I followed the directions from Avid, but when I went to the step of releasing the lever and slowly pushing it back into place by pushing the caliper syringe....nothing happened. No matter how hard i pushed the syringe, I could not get the brake...
So you replied to the gayest thread ever? What does that say about you? You wasted your time on the gayest thread? Wait a minute, why am i reading and responding to this? I'm not on deployment.
I have registered for the DH race this year, and have never been down that way riding. Is it possible to come down on a weekend and ride? I live about 2 hours and don't really have any idea where it's at- I don't make it to Reading too much.
Well, I can't comment on Yeti, but I ordered an Intense before Christmas and it just got to the shop last week. The fork showed up and they were all set to build it, when Fox called them and said they shipped the wrong year fork, so now it'll be a week or so more.....And right now, we're having...
Such a bum deal. I was really disappointed when Blue Mtn closed- and it kinda sucked. Now Diablo, which rocked is gone. Let's hope something new raises from the ashes. Especially since i just got a new 951. No place is close to central PA to ride dh.
Well, the softer pads seem to have done the trick for the noise, but the pads only lasted two full days at Seven Springs and one full at Diablo and they're toast. My last ride at Seven i more or less had no rear brakes. Fun.
So after a season of riding screaming brakes, I replaced my pads with softer pads, cleaned everything w/ alcohol, but they squeal like a banshee...my rotors have some scorch marks, but i haven't tried to "burn" them w/ a torch yet, which i've heard of...good idea or not? Should i just replace...
Anyone have any info on short track XC/AM races in PA? It seems all races in this area are endurance/24 hr? I'm thinking of getting into racing, but that's way too much to start out....
