Less unsprung mass/weight? Seems to me that most likely the lowers+stanchions+damping rods on conventional forks weigh more than the stanchions+damping rods on the inverted Emerald by a substantial amount even with that carbon arch thingy on the Emerald. I really like the idea structural...
Ok just as I suspected, and thanks for the great answer. Makes sense now. Seems like the reviewers at Vital were either simplifying things greatly for the sake of a shorter word count, or committing a GCE (gross conceptual error). I would guess a little of both.
I am no suspension guru, but I thought the main benefit of a remote resivoir on a shock was to provide a higher oil volume. The increased volume decreases fading under high cyclic loads, due to heat and cavitation, and therefore provides more consistent dampening. When comparing a Float CTD and...
I am pretty sure my post is like on of those "Social Networking" announcements that keep you from getting jobs and so forth, and therefore it would be wise to delete it...Screw it I live life with only 50% of the torx installed...dangerous
I've been running 3 bolts/disc since I started racing in 2001 (saw a picture of Nico with only 3). They do come loose a little more often, but never caused me any major issues (yet!).
If you look as suspension as solely a feature to smooth out rough terrain, I could see a hardtail making sense. However suspension in my imo is also used for preloading off lips, for increasing speed out of corners etc, etc. I guess what I'm getting at is that I think learning how to use...
Yep that's why they are allowed 200 extra CC's over 2t's. Which hypothetically would be similar to the UCI implementing a regulation to add 10lbs of ballast to all 26" bikes competing in order to make the 29" bikes (that the manufactures are pushing) more competitive.
Thanks for the heads up. I agree that the most powerful weapon we have as consumers is being educated about what we are purchasing. Lowering the profits of those whom we chose not to buy from will bring about change.
The irony of managing our resources in a more responsible manner is that what...
I wasn't quite sure if the top off road guys were running them, just assumed a good percentage were, guess not. I've only been riding for a couple of yrs but I've heard than engine braking with a 2t can foul plugs pretty quickly, so I just pull in the clutch and pretend like I am on my dh bike...
The 250SX smoker dynos at 49hp, which is not very far off of the 4t's 50ish hp. To WBC the 210lb 250 2T with a significant lower cog (no valve train above the piston) makes a the 2T a better descender than 20-30 lb heavier 450's. Compression braking is kind of a moot point with most guys running...
You mean about 4x being cancelled? Certainly sad:(
Excuse me but I couldn't help but be excited about the possible oppurtunities that this loss could provide to the WC venue now that there is some money and time freed up. Sorry for trying to bring this to light, please continue with your...
Hmm with 4x gone WC's should have 2 day format. Saturday and Sunday races, best combined time wins. A lot more action and a bit more drama. With some improved camera coverage, and a little more work on the tracks I wouldn't be surprised if I was watching DH on ESPN in ten yrs........Woot!
Not really what I was getting at, but Australians adults have an average of 10.9 yrs of schooling compared to 12 yrs for the average American adult. However Australians average 1814 hrs worked per yr compared to the American average of 1792 hrs. Anyway sorry for ruining/derailing this thread.
