I had no clue that anyone rode with arch over spindle. Maybe that’s better for giant drops and mega jumps… ?
I’ve always preferred concave pedals. On clipless, I set cleats as far back as they go on Shimano shoes, but that’s nowhere near the arch… it’s still under the ball on my 11.5 US feet.
Why do so many brands want to take the simplicity of a hardtail and tart it up with sliding or otherwise adjustable dropouts? That shit never stays tight in real world applications without a ton of fiddling and maintenance.
You chose to ride a primitive hardtail… there’s no performance gain...

It’s pretty nuts that a company of SRAMs funding and stature can’t release a premiere gravity brake without wandering bite point. This is probably their most important product release this year, coming off the win from T-type.
