PM me sometime, I can start showing you around if you'd like. What part of North County?
There is a ton of trail riding around Poway, Escondido, Carlsbad areas as well as the old standby's like Noble Canyon, Anderson and the stuff closer out to the desert. if you think gap jumps are scary, you...
my buddy ian has a 1UP for his mini, Ianjenn you know him, he's a SLO local we all rode tunnel together once upon a time...you should definitely check it out, its a slick looking rack but pretty spendy. I personally am not a fan of the cam latch design on the 1UP, but it is definitely a nice...
i've got the minnaars. i like them a lot, because i switch between clips and flats about 70/30. it just feels more consistent on my feet, plus if you have to dismount and walk up something super steep and rocky that you can't pedal, its just like you're wearing normal shoes. i guess, i've just...
i ended up settling on a Float X for now. it definitely doesn't heat up like the standard CTD shock did, and feels a lot better. i heavy fork hucked to flat one of the wood diving boards at snow summit on it the other day, had to have been 25-30ft out from the take off and it took it totally in...
another vote for the renthal fat bars. i ran them on my trail bike for a while too and didn't think the stiff ness was uncomfortable, and they fit my reach and wingspan nicely.
and it also depends on what trail you're riding. most of the trails i ride on a regular basis, if you're bottoming out on the regular you've probably got too soft of a setup.
how much preload do you have cranked into that spring? which end of the psi spectrum are you at in the reservoir?
x2 if the rebound is too slow and the bike is packing up, it'll give a similar feeling. basically, its hitting the spot where the spring rate and leverage ramp enough that it can't compress anymore (for the given input) and you get that kick back feeling even though you're not bottomed out.
for...
not that anyone cares, but a year and a half and 20k miles later, still going strong. I'll let you know how it fares after the first auto-x this weekend...
ended up buying an old hot rod truck sooner than i thought too...for $300, i couldn't really pass it up....
I'm sick of the CTD alphabet soup stuff on my Carbine. Never been happy with the way the Float rear shock performed, otherwise I love the bike. I was always really happy with the Vivid Air on my V10, aside from the air part of it. I like the way the new Monarchs feel, but I'm having trouble...
gas driers are so much faster than electric. my parents have a fancy ass maytag or something that is electric. thing used to take 2 hours to dry a load of jeans and t-shirts. the house i bought came with a gas dryer that's about 25 years old and it will dry nearly any load in 45 minutes...
don't get your hopes up....they are TW made. very high quality bikes though!
the rebound side DU bushing will wear very quickly, i had to replace them at a minimum of every 6 months on my commy supreme (version before yours). the bearings last pretty good, they are sealed and shielded pretty good.
