2016 has resulted in finally getting my hands of some tokens for the dual position pikes. 2 tokens and -15psi has changed the forks! Mid climb photo of this afternoons ride.
2016 will hopefully also see some new wheels soon-ish.
I just bought a Lev Integra. I replaced the Giant Post with my old Reverb but wanted internal routing. For me it was the 150mm option on the KS, and no longer having to worry about breaking the remote when I flip my bike upside down.
Quick phone shot of my new bike, better photos to follow. 2015 Giant Trance SX that I picked up today. Popped on my Chromag saddle/stem and Nukeproof Carbon bars, and my Rever (need to buy a new stealth post, want 150mm but this is 30.9). All thats left to do is get the stickers of the rims and...
I had tiny little bits of dust/rocks stuck in my spring that were making horrendous squeaking sounds. Where the spring flattens at each end, pry it up with a screwdriver and clean with a rag/air. Its the sort of bit that rarely gets cleaned, but can make a lot of noise.
Also check where the gap...
For the price of a 2010/11 Idylle, you'll be able to look at a newer 12/13 888/Boxxer (and you'll also have more choice, allowing you to buy a good set).
My personal experience:
MY07 888 RC2X > MY08 WC > MY08 Team > MY10 Race > MY11 Team > Boxxer JTech > MY13 888 RC3 Ti V2
If you want stiff...
I'm aware of exact figures on lifts, and even if they cheap out on a fixed triple they're running into 7figures. For the project to a legitimate they have to be looking at a detachable quad, which will increase that number significantly. Setting up a new year round park needs a detachable quad...
$10 million including the lift and a village? That seems cheap... even though it looks like it could be easy access to the lift line, that is not a realistic figure.
Small ones will be loud, as they're constantly filling themselves. Mine is plumbed in to the garage around a corner, so it's not a huge issue, but it'll rumble constantly.
I'd recommend a good chuck, and a digital pressure gauge.
If you suspect this will be the case, or do your first brake and are about to do the other. Remove the lever, and push the fluid up and just let it spirt out the hose. All that crap can get stuck up inside the lever and destroy it, due to no seals being available the basically means new lever...
Open the bleed screw, install funnel, flick the lever whilst ensuring the fluid level doesn't drop too low in the funnel, and your golden. Unless you haven't bled for while and need to flush the whole system then this is more than adequate to get a solid bleed, I believe in most part due to the...
Both the riders in that video are well over 5'9. I'm 6'1 and Craig Evans is taller than me and is incredibly fast (you may recognise him from Duncan Philpotts Deep Summer slideshow and he just won Expert at the first round of the BDS)
Painted Cliff is on Blackcomb (the mountain next door to Whistler). So you couldn't ride out their from the park. If you ride on Blackcomb (pedal up only, no lift accessed biking) then you could rid trails home. Roam in the loam comes out just above there, and instant Grat just below. The walk...
Because the bike park is open 10-8, and you won't want to be taking your dh bike with you everywhere you go. I'd quite often push home for lunch, then push home after riding and then go into the village and walk up again. I used to hate that hill. But I was a student and couldn't afford better...
You have a BBQ and a fridge, don't need much else during the summer! It is also right next to the main supermarket in the Village (the IGA). I lived in Glaciers Reach during the Summer of 2012, super handy place if you don't want a hotel and don't have a vehicle. I had the whole condo though for...
So they know we want simpler drivetrains with less gears on Dh bikes. Did they miss the part about not wanting super narrow 10/11speed chains?
One step forward, two steps back. Now come on Shimano! M830 deserves this....without the price and ridiculousness.
