    Tubeless sealant questions

i don’t use it, but a bunch of kids in North Carolina are sponsored by “black ox” sealant. It’s fun to ask them if they like “black ox”!

This is what's wrong with The Industry™

I noticed that Ellsworth now has a line of sunglasses. I assume it’s to disguise your face in public? (i won a bunch of xc races on an Ellsworth in 1996)

    Mullet Madness

Looks like a 5 lands built frame to me. Adam Prossie(Reeb fabricator)just finished exactly what you are asking for for my buddy Joe. Instead of bending the downtube(very HARD to accomplish well with light, oversized steel) they butt welded some 3d printed “curves”.

Big Caliper Little Rotor vs Opposite

Back when Gustav’s were free if ya finished on the Podium at Plattekill, i can confirm that there once were caliper/ master cylinder/burly rotor combinations that were overkill. any brake math nerds have the numbers on the mc to piston ration on old gustavs with 4-finger levers? Like the...

Big Caliper Little Rotor vs Opposite

The sram marketing blab talked a lot about getting your brakes hot enough to work well. I have certainly noticed when i run my biggest brake rotors and metallic pads in cold weather i get sub-optimal function. Getting the thermal mass up to where the pads are working well is actually pretty...

    Frankenbrakes and brake improvement discussion

I still have g1 and g2 code calipers attached to juicy levers and elixir levers that function as well as they did when they were new. The G2 code caliper on non-swing link guide master cylinders, good fluid and thick rotors is my favorite brake setup at the moment for my trail and trials bikes.

    Frameworks DH frames are happening

Indeed, my friends and i built some of the shuttle trails, and ran slalom races there. The “Little Yella Pils” beer was for Dale’ mom, and she was living in the ranch house at the Reeb Ranch (Dale is Front Range via Alabama). Once Granny passed Dale lost interest in the site(an old ww2...

Guerrilla Gravity, badass frame manufacturer in Colorado

Did y’all know that the Time bicycle factory is moving from “France”(Tunisia) to Upstate South Carolina ? The RTM method is so complicated BMW and Clemson University are splitting a bunch of grant money to try to figure out if people who speak ‘murican can even pull it off. Color me skeptical.

Talk to me about affordable DJ forks

oh, lol i musta been looking at the manitou forks at the 130mm lengths, ahahaha. fwiw I’m assuming anyone looking for a replacement fork for a frame from 2007 needs a straight steer tube. It’s Manitou and Suntour left in that game… or your buddies basement.

Talk to me about affordable DJ forks

(the best option for straight steet tubes i can find in america is a Suntour Epicon… until the damper blows up it will offer almost enough rebound damping, but the stock compression range isn’t very useful at high psi)

Talk to me about affordable DJ forks

That era of M-arch Marz forks was also long! The reverse arch comes at the cost of making the fork longer so the arch doesn’t hit the downtube. If i were less lazy i would go find the chart i made with the various modern “jump” forks. On my bikes with straight headtubes I have an amalgam...

Talk to me about affordable DJ forks

In America at least, many complete DJ bikes are on deep sale. Evil is blowing their bike out, last i heard they still have a few left. At small frame builder pricing, the Cane Creek Helm DJ, the Ohlins dj fork(both of those are assembled on 27.5” chassis so you get 90 instead of 100mm of...

Caroline and Will and Chuppy and Shyla are well known by literally anyone who has raced downhill in America in the last 10 years. An angry scotsman and a moto burnout aren’t the target demographic, apparently.
