2015 Specialized Demo and Enduro Evo

The bike is cool and all, but did any of you guys notice the fork that Brad Benedict(I think) is riding in the product launch video? Gold colored, looks inverted- Ohlins fork maybe? You can get a good view of it around 1:40 in the video.

    Ohlins fork - for realz

Doesn't appear to be enduro specific. Unrideable.

SRAM 10 Speed Quick Link Question.

I've been re-using the Sram 10 speed master links with no issues for the past year. The hardest part is getting the master link to lock again after taking it off- but once its on, it isn't going anywhere. Get these and make your life easier...

Gravity Nationals quandry - - Angel Fire or Mammoth?

Good one. I assumed cost was the OP's limiting factor for an 'extra' riding trip . Considering that nationals is in June, there is a lot of summer left for riding. Silver Star is a great, cheap option in comparison to Whistler, and is conveniently located close to the PNW states.

Gravity Nationals quandry - - Angel Fire or Mammoth?

As someone who has been to both, I would go to Angel Fire without a doubt. Angel Fire has real dirt, real trails, and a cool rural, mountain town vibe. The condo's and houses look like they are stuck in the 80's, and it is just a cool experience. Also, the trails are rad, and they actually build...

What is the riding situation near Boston?

It looks like I am going to be enrolling in BU's program at their medical campus. I'd like to be no more than 15-20 minutes away using public transportation or driving. Where do I want to live? The South End seems like it's money money, Jamaica Plains seems cheaper, but it also seems like there...

ok, so I'm going v10...but I've got a couple questions

As an FYI, I am 5"11 and ride a large V10. It fits perfectly. I've tried to ride an XL, and it is definitely too big for me. -Ryan

What is the riding situation near Boston?

Wow, thanks for the advice y'all! Brent, I applied to medical school but unfortunately didn't get in. The two programs I am looking at would be one year masters programs (the Tufts program would be at the medical campus) that will highly increase my odds of med school admission next year. I...

What is the riding situation near Boston?

Another California transplant here. I'm considering attending either Tufts or BU for a masters program starting this August. From what I have read, housing is very expensive and parking is non-existent. I would like to hit up Highlands as much as possible, but that does not seem possible without...

    Bad news about Sombrio

Since TLD was mentioned, I just wanted to say that I am still using my TLD moto shorts from 2006 and that I have no plan to throw the shorts away any time soon. They are still my go to riding shorts (even for xc) and while they don't look new or pretty anymore, they have no holes and are...

Pike Dual Position Air - any change in suspension performance?

I currently have that fork on my Spitfire, and it is the best single crown fork I have ever ridden period. I often forget to adjust the fork back into the 160mm travel mode at the top of climbs, and only realize the fork was in the down position at the bottom of a trail when I go to put it back...

    China Peak Pro GRT

The gopro does not do the course any justice. The upper part of the trail is fast and fun, and the lower part is the hardest section of trail I have ever seen a race run on. I heard more than one person racing pro say "f this, I am not racing." This is a real dh course, that's for sure.

Val di Sole (ITA) 2013 World Cup #2

I just think the bar has been raised. Looking at Minnaar's near crash, and both Brook's and Hart's crashes, these guys are riding at the limit of what is possible, and have definitely all stepped up their game from last season. Usually Minnarr is very smooth, and it seems rather uncharacteristic...

    PF30 BB crank options

I have nothing but good things to say about the e13 crank/bb set up on my Demo. I remember buying the BB and cranks separately, but that may not be the case now. The e13 pf30 bb is much better than the plastic pf30 adapter that comes with the frame. There is no creaking at all, and the BB...

Help with Demo 8 bottom bracket

Yeah, the torque spec is just tighter than super tight. If you think you tightened the bolt enough, crank it harder. It's kind of like the Special-ED command post. The supplied plastic adapter never worked in my frame. Every pedal stroke I took with that set-up I would hear a very bad creaking...

Help with Demo 8 bottom bracket

I remember my LBS said that Shimano now makes an 83mm option. Maybe it's a special order thing. Either way, I'd do some more research on that before dropping the dough on new cranks. If you end up new cranks, my E13's with the pf30 BB have given me no issues.
