This is what's right with The Industry®

Several times I've felt that cold wetness after tumbling into the abyss. Maybe that's because I'm a squid

    the Rampage thread

This is the only answer. The judges can't shit out an accurate score on the first run because it's not gymnastics with a regulation height pommel horse. The first runs establish the baseline I guarantee the lowest common denominator NBC viewer in a Chili's won't get bored because they don't get...

if it's bladder instead of IFP then you could still end up w/ less friction overall due to the smaller shafts. I don't know if they've mentioned either way. I do agree that smaller air volume + smaller oil volume = higher temps, less consistent etc. The higher air volume in the fatbike tires...

Have they said how many percent tactical the anti-squat profile is yet?

    Trust me...

I haven't seen any employer time-theft posts about it yet so publish this in the ridemonkey journal of mechanical design: The universal complaint with linkage forks is vagueness. Whatever is gained in weight, stiffness, reliability, stiction, or braking geo is lost in road feel. BMW tried to...

It's a nonstarter IMO-- if you hit something hard enough to hurt your chain ring then 3d printed plastic will not help. We have a 3d printer in the office and I've made a lot of doohickies with it... great for RC airplane parts, not great for hitting against rocks on a thin edge. if you want to...

    Hardtails and you

Why did I open this horseshit thread? I don't even want a hard tail and I want a hard tail. God I hate being at work

    It's a long ways down

I figured it out, no compelling reason to fall off the side there. What did Fairclough do on it? Not a lot of creative options. Except the far far right line.

Man that sucked. I'm still not sure where he came off to fall down that far

From Pinkbike: "The job of the spring is simply to re-extend the suspension, it's not there to hold the bike up, that's what the compression damping is for" - Nigel Reeve, Stevie Smith's Mechanic eh, should someone tell him? *edit*- there are probably charitable interpretations of that which...

Techno Mousse - no moar toobz?

One more thing to think about is that they feel weird and dead, foam doesn't rebound like pressurized air. Also there are anecdotes of moto enduro guys (privateers I assume) running tennis balls in the front, for what that's worth.

New "trail bike" for 2016 thread

Tree Fiddy. Could have gone either way and been very happy, but I figure revving it to the moon is more the kind of rider I aspire to be. It's a spaceship on singletrack, absurdly easy to ride. The ultimate poaching tool!

New "trail bike" for 2016 thread

Well, I was implying that I bought a new husqvarna for my trail bike instead of a miami vice nomad, both costing about the same, at least when the nomad first came out

New "trail bike" for 2016 thread

mtb user conundrum... have I been shamed enough for my department store homeless kid/dad beach cruiser wheels to justify an enve wunderbike? Or is there another way to spend all my income?

    Hitch Racks

I have the next up size folding one, with 12" wheels. I've been hauling 1-3 motocross bikes behind my Honda Fit on 250 mile weekends for 3 years, ~70 mph or more. No vibration, no bad behavior, still on original tires. At the trail or track I get amused looks from guys with monster truck rigs...

    Hitch Racks

$200 at harbor freight. Grease the hubs, weld the bolted joints. Add a 20'er of steel angle to rack the bikes up. registration is what... $12? Look at where the GG bus fenders are in relation to the outboard tires... that rack would be ungainly wide for the Yukon. Keep it simple and low effort.

Musical chair game 2016 or Teh offseason prophecy

Trump will ride the Airborne Pathogen. It's the best bike and it's beautiful. This really is a good bike. It's the sort of bike you would see flying down the best downhill courses in the French Alps.

Future of the DW Turner DHR?

I don't know the cost spread between the two after all expenses, but prepreg carbon fiber is NOT cheaper than aluminum, period. In fact it's fucking expensive, and I don't think there is a cheap option. There is some finishing labor in 'plastic' frames too.

Wind situation sucks, yet again. What time do they start? Should be earlier, if logistically possible.
