I have lots of problems with bladder. Usually it takes 2-3 months riding to squeeze bladder inside, or it will pop out of damper assembly. So I'm thinking about removing bladder and drilling 1-2 holes to damper to make it work as "open bath". Of corse I have to use more oil, but I don't give a...
I have Foxy since the end of last season. Didn't ride much on it, but compared to my Transition Bottlerocket (which I broke), Foxy is great. XC rides never been so much fun. Its very fast on rough terrain. I've got Fox 36 in the front, so it's quite slack (about 66°) and very stable downhill. It...
Also sign of early production batch on mine was that one pedal had thick gray grease in it and the other had very thin transparent/yellow grease, just like SlickHoney, or something.
To open them up you need to clamp pedal body and turn the bearing assembly out, its easy.
I have them 7 months (4 months riding). Only problem I had was that the pedal body was moving in/out and up/down on the axle. Problem was with 3 little bushings, which moved on the axle and allowed body to move. Took me 20 minutes to repair and it didn't happen since then. I had one of the first...
Hans Dampf for sure. Rolling resistance is just like my Ardents 2.25 60a, but Hans got a lot more grip and protection. I've been riding all season on them and had only 1 snakebite. And it can be bought as set (front and rear) for a great price on www.bike-components.de
I have Foxy (smaller than Dune, but the same suspension system), and I agree with what daday wrote. The bike is really fast on rough and accelerates very well. Propedal makes nothing on Foxy (maybe thats the difference between foxy and dune, except the amount of travel) as its anti-squat is more...
"bigger contact patch from larger wheels good."
Wrong. Contact patch is given by tire pressure, not by wheel size. Wheel size can alter shape of the patch. For 29" wheel it's longer and narrower, but the patch area is the same.
What language is that man speaking? Seems like he's trying to say as many words as possible in a second, repeat every 2nd word over and over again. I'm lost now. At least the vid is cool (without sound)
Fox forks by design have few milimeters longer space between seals and crown. When you bottomed out hard, you just compressed bottom-out bumper which is there to save your fork from serious damage. It's OK to use 160mm of travel and have the last 20mm for some unexpected hit.
Thats true. I use 2.35 Intense tires that are like 2.5 Maxxis.
From their lineup I use the
Invader - perfect for hardpack, fast rolling
Intruder - great for loose, slower rolling
Spike - sea of mud, incredibly slow rolling :)
All of their DH tires use 50 Durometer rubber, so they last...
Buy a 36 Van RC2 and before you ride it, replace the string with Air Piston Assembly (820-02-082-KIT) for 160mm or (820-02-080-KIT) for 180mm version. Also buy a new top cap (820-05-066-KIT). It should not be too expensive.
But, RC2 cart for Van and Talas has bottomout circuit, that shall be...
