    "Jump" Advice

Tomorrow is the 3rd Annual Blitz to the Barrel Dash for Cash race here in Bend. I missed it last year because I was sick but I'm racing this year. I haven't raced since last August and I have been injured most of spring so I have little chance of doing well, but this event is really fun...

    Giro

Who else is watching the Giro? Wow, Denmark for the first 3 stages showcased a lot of action. Taylor Phinney is not having the best of luck.

    Washington picture extravaganza

Derek and I went on another WA mountain bike trip, this time over to St. Helens and Mt. Rainier, then on to Capital Forest for the All Mtn Championship Race. 9 days of riding (2 of them racing) My summary - lots of climbing every day, lots of roots everywhere...

    Applegate Lake, Oregon

I raced down in Yreka, CA and then we swung by and camped at Applegate Lake for three extra days of riding. This area features big climbs up to and then along ridgelines. Preride of the race course: As if the race wasn't hard enough at 32 miles and somewhere around 5,000' of...

    Old Bikes Not Forgotten

Last night I got a nice surprise. There was a kid at the local short track race on a Titus Racer X. On closer inspection, I realized it was my old bike I'd sold a couple years ago! Titus was my first real sponsor back in the day and that was my first real race bike. Good to know she's still...

    Tt

I've done exactly one TT race in my years, as part of the 5 day Cascade Cyclilng Classic stage race. I was one of the only racers without a tt helmet or aero bars and felt a little odd bet, eh, didn't do too badly results wise. Next weekend is a local 3 stage TT race. Kind of weird: Sat...

    Colorado Trail

I know The Toninator once rode the Colorado trail from Denver to Durango, and I remember there was a lot of talk about how much of a pain it is to try to truly do it self supported and still have a good time just because of all the logistics. I'm not saying it isn't doable because it totally...

    Care to Share Your Car?

This is a sweet idea and would benefit me greatly since I hardly ever drive my car and the battery is usually dead from not ever being used. http://www.ktvz.com/oregon-northwest/27267132/detail.html# :thumb:

    Ho-lee crap

:eek:The Halloween cyclocross dress up race on Sunday was all fun and games until this came around the course. Worst part was when he crashed on a muddy section and she didn't know it and kept running dragging him and the bike. They got pulled after one lap because she didn't have a bike...

    Bike Parking

Yesterday was the ribbon cutting of a new bike parking spot in Bend. It's a primo spot right in front of Thump Coffee in the heart of the downtown district. They reclaimed a car spot and put in a giant red bike rack an artist designed and donated. Things sometimes work out for the better for...

    Hardesty & Eula Ridge Oakridge

I've said it before and always will - Oakridge has some awesome riding. This weekend we took our trailer there again and went camping/riding. Day 1 was Eula Ridge-11 miles roughly 2.75 hours. The ride started with a big 6.6 mile fireroad climb and then another mile climb on singletrack...

Heidi's Southern Utah Vacation (lots of pics so slow)

I personally like the St George/Hurricane/Red Canyon Utah riding better then Moab. Derek and I recently got back from 8 days of riding down there and we had a blast. We took our trailer, or dog Fletcher, 4 cases of beer, 2 growlers of beer, 2 bottles of wine, and our bikes. Game on. Day 1...

    Pics from Sunday ride

Went to Sisters, OR which is about 25 minutes from Bend to ride some new trails. They are classic high desert trails with lava rock, manzanita, and juniper all around. Nothing strenuous, we put in about 18 miles and had a great time. :thumb:
