I'm liking the suggestions of getting a mullet and then either slapping a longer 27.5 fork on that puppy or a crown extender or some combination thereof. That opens up a fair amount of options, my LBS made me a pretty solid offer on a Slash 6 that might be worth my time slapping a 27.5 fork on...
Man, I rode a megatrail a few times and while I might get shit on in this crowd for expressing any negativity about that brand, I just couldn't really get along with it. I'm pretty lanky tall for just being 6'1" though and large I rode felt like it turned me into the hunchback. Probably deserves...
Thanks for the responses! The Rune and the Clash are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Hesitant on the Nukeproof although I've heard good things about how it rides, nervous about getting replacement parts for it what with... ya know.
Anybody with real world experience with the clash...
I broke my repaired Giant again and I'm looking for something new. I experimented with 29" wheels like a girl in college, and now I'm looking to have actual fun by going back to smaller wheels.
Who's still making 160-180mm travel range enduro bikes with 27.5 wheels?
So far the pickings seem...
Update/Question a year later because I'm lazy and haven't done shit about fuck, and I'm finally replacing all my bearings in my bike and fixing my shit.
You have any luck with finding anything higher quality than what I9 runs? I assume they're just running the same stock Enduro bearings you...
You've obviously never been poked by one of those things or looked sadly at something after you scratched the shit out of and realized you dun fucked up.
I don't mean to hurt anybodies feelings, but why don't you just move somewhere fucking better where you don't have to deal with snow?
Or do a snow sport that's actually fun, like alpine skiing or snowmobiling?
Like, there are options out there. You don't have to pick an inferior sport that...
Because finding tires for them is a pain in the ass, these (https://www.jensonusa.com/Maxxis-Minion-Dhf-26-3C-DH-Tire-26X25-3C-Maxxgrip-DH-Wire-Bead?loc=usa&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA75itBhA6EiwAkho9ey5ILkb-tPmf3XRf6CwVXGuhSN8r8zaA07CECqHqHWhmLVlDk34qeBoCaycQAvD_BwE) show up in batches of 5-6...
My current DH bike is pretty good. It's just less good than it could be if it had a more appropriate wheel size (26"). Smaller wheels are demonstrably more fun in every situation.
Fuckin hate every 29 DH bike I've ridden.
I like 29 well enough on XC/trail/enduro bikes where pedaling matters...
Just rode my wife's DW DHR for a run at the bike park yesterday, will anybody mind if I circle back to bitching about how big wheels suck and 26" are way more fun?
'bUt BiG wHeEls aRe fAsTeR' people should go stick a cactus up their butts at this time.
Florida is to Tahoe as Iran is to Germany Sethimus, with about as much cultural difference. I get that geography is hard for some Europeans though.
But you can and should still make fun of Woo for living there. The smart thing to do is get really rich working for one of the big tech companies...
Theres a thread over on pinkbike where people are talking about how important weight is and how they're willing to make some sacrifices like good tires to get the weight down with lots of positivity and hugging about it.
Looking at the stupid idlers coming on trail bikes these days, looks like...
Yeah I'm not sure it'd make any functional difference in jumping where you're coming off lips going fairly quick, frequently not hitting straight on and requiring adjustments in the air, I'm willing to bet it would just kind of turn the bike into a dead sailor machine.
I think you'd need a WAY...
Hopeys are kinda crappy tbh. If you insist on using a steering damper, Cane Creeks is significantly better.
But even better than that is a regular ass headset without a steering damper.
Edit: I shouldn't shit on them. Some people have legitimate physical aliments and related problems that...
I'm gonna be honest. I'm sure you feel strongly about whatever it is you just typed, but I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
But I did grow up in cottoncandy land in the same town as Ianjenn.
Maybe its the drugs. Who knows. But if it helps you, he did used to come into the...
