    Thomson DH Bar?

Deity black labels are some of the most comfy bars I have owned and you can get them in loud colors or stealth black.

    Boxxer WC vs Fox 40

I had a 2010 Boxxer WC, 2011 boxxer R2C2, and then a 2012 fox 40. I liked the feel of the 40 a lot better. Smoother over the rough stuff and just felt more controlled throughout the travel. It rode a trail that had a bunch of jumps, rough studder bumps, and ended in a wicked steep loose...

    Deciding between DHR and Legend

I am super lazy so I haven't fully read everyone elses responses but I have owned both in the same season. Went from a Banshee Legend to a Canfield Jedi to a Turner DHR over the course of 1.5 seasons. Here is my take on the two you asked about. Both had RC4 rear shocks with TI coil...

Rim Suggestion for DH Race Wheelset

If it helps the Flow rims have a shorter sidewall which allows the tire to have a wider profile. Also it reduces pinch flats. Hopefully not jinxing myself by saying this but..... I have had the same set of Flow rims for 3 seasons now and have yet to have to true them and have never had a pinch...

    Lowering air sprung fork

This is true. I remember hearing people having issues with Totems and the air channel being blocked by the spacers if you used one that wouldn't allow air to go through (around, in, past, whatever) the spacer. So in some instances, with the wrong spacer, you could potentially have a problem...

    DW DHR for 5'10 rider

I am just under 6'0 and the large fits me pretty good. Its a little on the small side compared to other larges I have ridden. At your height I would go for the Large and if you need to you can always run a 28-40mm stem. The medium I tried felt a lot smaller than other mediums I have ridden in...

    GT Distortion

At your height it should fit you great. It actually climbs better then any bike I have owned which includes a Nomad 2, Blur lt2, banshee spitfire, and various other longer travel bikes. It sprints like a hardtail while standing.

    GT Distortion

I'll also add that these bikes are getting way popular locally. My friends who own a shop both ride one and I have one and since they have placed several orders for more. Almost everyone who rides one wants one. There are few bikes you can ride XC on minute and then hit some big drops and...

    GT Distortion

Been gone for a while, So the bike below is mine and has a standard lower headset cup and a lowered lyrik solo air (140mm) so it is a bit taller then a stock distortion. With that said its bb height is 13 inches exactly but It pedals so well and stays high in its travel so I don't have to...

    GT Distortion

I took mine for a weekend of riding down in the desert and had a blast. Did some XC on some of the days and then some NASTY DH on one of the last days. This bike handled everything great. The DH was steep, rocky and long but the slack geo on the distortion handled it great. I wasn't going DH...

New Sam Hill Signature Tire by Specialized

I have been on them for a bit. Running them tubeless on EX500's and they have been perfect so far. I don't see a reason to change them anytime soon. Probably buy new ones when the old ones die. and for a pic

    GT Distortion

Here is one of my friends distortions he just built up. He somehow got a white one which everyone else is jealous of. Him and his cousin own the bike shop that got mine as well. No luck finding other frames for you guys yet but the 2012's are in stock complete and you could always swap out...

    New seatpost by Crank Brothers

Smaller frame = smaller TT which will not work for me. I ride a GT distortion which can be ridden all day on XC trails and hit jumps and drops on the way down. There are quite a few trails around here like that. Also the local DJ's are more MTB oriented so they are typically better on a 4X4...

    New seatpost by Crank Brothers

I guess I am the only one who would dislike the giant 2 inch bulge where the cable goes in. I already dislike the smaller bulges on the other adjustable seatposts since you can't get your seat all the way slammed. If I had a standard large 19" or 20" seat tube then it would make it up in the...

    GT Distortion

Get the float 36 for sure. I have owned a revelation 150mm on another bike and didn't like it. It may have performed fine but looking down and seeing two little pencil legs (4 if you count my own ha ha) didn't inspire any confidence. All 3 of the the people I ride with that have Distortions...

    GT Distortion

wow that is sick man!! I am so jealous of the black ones and even the new blue ones. I think the only way I would ever replace my distortion would be to get a different color then the grey/purple. I'll be getting a good weekend of desert riding in next weekend on the distortion. Can't...

    GT Distortion

Yeah man, if your ever up in SLC utah let me know, we could swap rides for a bit (either DH or trail bikes). I think its so popular because its a pretty unique bike. Its low, slack, stiff, and lively but you can still pedal it to the top. It climbs like an XC bike but you can hit large jumps...

    GT Distortion

looks pretty nice. I had a spitfire which is a pretty similar bike to the bandit. fun bikes for sure. I needed a bike that can be used as a FR bike as well though. I wanted a bike that could XC and hit the local DJ's without swapping anything. Thats where I felt my Blur lt2 and spitfire...

    GT Distortion

out of curiosity, what bike did you build up that can handle the same situations as the Distortion? I had looked for a while and didn't find anything close except 4x/SS bikes but those won't work for taller people due to the short seat tube.
