Sounds more like an issue with the Stans than the the tire.
My expereince has been the Stans loses it's sealing properties after 6 months or so, especially in the cold. I had small holes in both front and rear start bubbling Stans on a cold rides in December. Changed out the Stans for fresh...
I've seen far more aggresive tactics in the past. Not sure he deserved the boot over it.
Personaly, I thought the move a few seconds later, where Renshaw drives Ferrar into the barrier is far worse.
Ferrar was in position on Cav's wheel when he jumped from 350 meters, if he wasn't driven to...
Some very strong opinions on the case here considering the article had virtualy no facts on the incident.
Since a jury of her peers awarded her $2.9 million, I'm assuming there might be some facts in the case that would support that.
I'm not saying she was right, but I don't know enough...

Alright....I'm diving headfirst into this cross thing this year.

I picked up a SS cross bike and plan to ride as many...

I remember LeMond using that excuse. :-)
Update:
Loving the bike, climbs like a goat. I've done a few high mountain rides and the stiffness really makes a difference compared to the old steel rig. Still making a few small tweaks to the fit and will probably change out the seat to a Fizik.
Here is a pic from the top of Sunrise on...
Was it fresh water or salt water?
How long was it in the water?
If it was salt water, tear the bike down. Rinse and clean EVERYTHING! Clean out all bearings and repack/or replace.
