Descendant cranks are light, but the lightest crank I would consider using on a DH bike would be the e*thirteen LG1r crank with an XC bb and 2 extra BB spacers to make it wide enough. 760grams, stronger, much stiffer, and more reliable than anything else.
I ran the same set this season...
Howdy,
Transition has the effective/horizontal top tube length on their site but I was wondering if someone would mind measuring from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat tube on a 2010-2011 Large Covert since I dont know anyone who has one local to me. Thanks!
negeeeetive, the chips go in from the INSIDE. not the outside. if you put the chips in from the outside you will wind up with lots of space on both sides of the shock. make sure you put the chips in from the inside of the link.
I don't post too much on here, but I have so much to say about it I cannot resist.
I will now list what I have found to be the most important. I have been racing DH for 8 years now, 4 of which have been in Pro and on Pro courses. This is what I've learned.
1.) Tires, Nothing is more important...
Hey everybody,
Every year my brother and I stop by on our way to or from Colorado to ride this insanely awesome DH trail. Last year due to high winds loads of trees had fallen in the trail all the way down leaving little room for fun. I know it is under snow right now, but late last summer...
Hey everybody, over the years I have either not put any sort of protection on my bike, or very rarely. I was wondering if anyone has found anything cheap that works. I would like a lot of it so maybe a roll or something. I've looked around at my hardware stores, but I cannot find anything thin...
Hey so I've checked out as many threads as I could, and I still couldn't find my answer. What RCS Ti Spring do I need for my 9.5x3.0 Fox RC4? Using BTI as a reference...It would appear that I need the DHX/Elka spring, but a buddy of mine got one for his 9.5x3.0 RC4 and it rubs real bad on this...
I have a sizing question. Because I never believe any companies sizing compared to mine, what is the Horizontal or middle of the head tube, to middle of the seat tube length? thanks
My 2006 V10 with an extra hole drilled in the upper shock mount. Lowered the BB by an inch and had an INSANE amount of ramp at the end of travel. Maybe I put it in the wrong place but the first 70% of travel felt completely normal. Then right after that on a big hit the suspension would just...
the DHR you idiot! The 2011 Trek is better than previous models...but really the DHR is a wayyyy better DH bike. I've ridden both. Unless you are getting the Trek for a grand cheaper ignore it all together...if saving money is your goal go with a Specialized.
Anyone else notice the Demo frame is up $100? Maybe they added the angleset? I just noticed this this morning...It's not really a big deal. Just wondering if anyone knows why?
