As a bmx racer myself, danscomp is the first place I checked for him. But they don't seem to have anything less than 36 spoke in 507 dia rims....unless you want to go super narrow. And that won't work well with 2.0+ mtb tires. So I went back to mtb. Do you have a 507 bmx rim suggestion in mind??
I'm not sure how much "abuse" a 60 lb kid is capable of putting on wheels. He has never bent a rim or broken a spoke. His rear wheel actually weights DOUBLE what mine does. And I'm a 200 lb downhiller. I think that's non-sense personally. It's like they make kids wheels out of tank...
I'm posting this in here because XC guys know the ins and outs of weight savings. My little boys bike weighs more than half his body weight. So I need to lighten the load. He's running a Specialized Big Hit Grom. I believe more XC weight parts would be a great match for a tiny guy riding DH...
I'm headed to Northstar this year for my first time in a few years. I have an Mtb Gravity Card and I see we get a "stay and ride free" deal. Has anyone here used it? Which hotel does that put you at? And do you guys think it's better than getting a cheap place in Truckee and paying for...
I have my mtb gravity card in hand for my free tix....and I'm on my way! I plan to do some long camping trips there this year now that I have that. No place like Mammoth!
I haven't been up there since 2012. But I'll go now that I have an excuse.:D Carpool from SD for opening day anyone???
"Northstar California invites Gravity Card holders to Stay and Bike for FREE! Stay 2 or more nights and receive 2 All-Day Bike Tickets per Room on top of Gravity Card...
Man...they put on the best show on the west coast last year. Unreal how few racers turned up for such a great setup. I sure hope they are rewarded by MANY more racers coming out this year. I have my mtbgravitycard for discounts...so I'll be there plenty this season.
The Gravity Card finally has Snow Summit and Mammoth discounts. Baller!! And if you have kids that need cards too, email. Those are made for way less cashish. And card profits go toward all those other bike park projects going on in SoCal. So 2 good reasons to have one...
Haha, now you have a reason to come back and ride with old friends John! Looking at Jan 4th as our next group dig day(weather permitting). Come on SoCal....let's get it done soon!
Ready for a new place to race in Ca? That's our goal, lots of events! It's been a LONG time coming, but we finally have full approval to build GP Park! A new summer program at Mt Waterman. Now the Gravity Pirates are HARD at work building miles of trails. We are woefully short of tools...
I've considered copying...but I did NOT consider the fact that Turner may have the drawing for me. NICE! I'll hit them up on that now.
Neither derailleur hanger dot com, ebay, or anywhere else has an 08. Plenty of hangers for the DW link version newer DHR's.
So I have a stripped out derailleur hanger. It's been helicoiled, and now that has failed. Turner says "sorry...don't have any, and no idea where you can get one." I'm posting everywhere hoping someone has an 08 DHR derailleur for me. But what do you do when such a special hanger can't be...
