"Most Buyer’s Guides suck–they’re little more than catalog copy rolled into a “special issue”.
That blows."
This is why Bike is the only US mtb mag I subscribe to. Not only because your reviews are legit (despite Seb writing CTD is a good "innovation" - maybe...
Huh.
See anything from DVO at Interbike?

Gonna reserve judgement until I spend some time on one. Feeling a little burned by the 29er hype that led me to waste a season trying to build a good handling 29er that ripped around the trails the way I like, I am reluctant to change now. I am quite happy with my playful(yes, playful = more...
Huh. For a 650 gram 2.4" trail tire, the Snake Skin sidewall is very durable for what it is. I've run tubeless Snake Skin sidewalls around the northwest for the last few years with no trouble. Trail riding and Super D racing. No DH - but that is not this tire's application. Its a sub 700 gram...
At retail, the $81 Hans Dampf is off the charts expensive(and aren't they made in Indonesia?, compare that to a $58 Mountain King actually made in Germany). They are getting away with it, and I'm sure the other manufacturers have noticed. More profit for all. A theory.
Schwalbe tires are well...
The folding DD is close. With what Specialized is doing though a spike folding AM tire from them would be sub 800 I would guess.
A 2.35(or 2.5, a Maxxis 2.5 is more like a Schwalbe 2.25) Medusa would be money!
This pricing escalation is Schwalbe's fault
The 730 gram Butcher Control looks to be on the money for aggressive trail riding/super d on a dry day
Would really like to see Storm and a Hill Billy in a more trail rider/super d friendly weight/casing. The only option for a quality spike type tire...
Lyrik 170 solo air in a Mojo HD with an AngleSet at -1*. Had serious gimbal knock sounds for first few rides, now only occasionally and under hard hits. I thought it was my fork this whole time and just got an RA to send it back for warranty repair. Found this thread. Don't need to send the fork...
If only it weren't true!!! Ha ha. Braaap.
Haven't seen any lemans or gate starts in the NW SD scene. Timed runs with a minute or two or few between riders. WA and OR courses are well marked. Practice runs the day before. Here are some photos from Oakridge this year. One of the best super d...
No real(legal) FR or DH trails in Cap. There is a new trail being built for human power, but nothing like a place like Duthie. Plenty of fun natural trail descents, but most require some pedaling somewhere. Longer travel bikes are overkill for 95% of the trails. Many fun runs though. 2nd the...
Nike? Jesus. FOX shocks will soon be available at Macy's. Hope they continue to put as much effort into development of their products as this guy will at pushing them. Seriously. Fox is doing well already.
