DSD Runt or Avalanche Hybrid coil air?

The Avy damper and coil system is a big investment for sure. I was wondering something similar as I’m considering a 29er as my next bike. Craig told me you can swap the cartridge/coil system over to the 29 fork as long as it’s the same travel and model of fork. In my case, Fox 36 160mm. Although...

DSD Runt or Avalanche Hybrid coil air?

Well I ended up getting the Avy coil and long story short, it is amazing. Exactly what I wanted. Super supple of the top and great midstroke support. The Avy damper was already fantastic and the hybrid air/coil system made it even better. At my weight (145-150lbs) I’m running about half the...

DSD Runt or Avalanche Hybrid coil air?

Thanks everyone for your insights. At my weight I’m leaning towards the avy coil/air system especially since I already have the damper. The claim of smoother action and an actual coil is enticing. Been reading reports of the Runt perhaps riding a little too high in the travel which I’m a little...

DSD Runt or Avalanche Hybrid coil air?

I currently have a Fox 36 160mm for 27.5 with an Avalanche damper. I really like the performance of the fork, but reading about the Runt has me curious. It would be nice to get a little more support/less dive out of the fork while improving small bump compliance. For reference, I live/ride...

    Baller 14" Kids bike??

This is a little bit above your target price but well worth it in my opinion. Resale value is really good though. Really light and easy to handle. Hand and coaster brakes. http://www.islabikes.com/product/bikes/cnoc-14-small/

    Avalanche kits for the Pike

Craig, Will an Avy lyrik cartridge retrofit into the new pike with an adaptor kit? I'm considering picking up a pike and want to know my options if it doesn't ride as nice as my avy'd lyrk.

    race face narrow wide chainring

I never got any grinding with the 30t and amg backplate. The amg comes with a lot of spacers and I had to mess with them a bit to get the right spacing. Once set up it was super quiet which pleasantly surprised me.

    race face narrow wide chainring

Yep, it works no problem. Although I've taken the amg off now to see if I really need it. So far so good. No chain drops but the ring is still new. Time will tell how well it will perform when it's worn down.

    Air Shock showdown

It's on a Knolly Endorphin. For context, I like to set up my trail bikes like mini-dh bikes (since I don't own a dh bike) so the 38-40% sag on the DBair doesn't bother me. Pedaling isn't really affected that much, imo. ymmv.

    Air Shock showdown

I've been lucky enough to run a pushed monarch rt-am, Vector Air HLR, and DBair on my 5.5" travel bike. They're all great shocks but the DBair is the clear winner with the vector air coming in second. Both the DBair and Vector Air hlr have great mid-stroke support. Pretty much what people are...

Avalanche is doing FOX DHX 3/4/5.0 SSD mod/Tune now.

Hey Bullcrew, can you offer some more feedback between the x-fusion and chubie? I currently have an avy chubie and really like it but I'm thinking about a vector air hlr to save some weight and have a little more adjustability with the air spring. Does the vector hlr come close to the chubie...

Avalanche boxxer upgrade kit out! Will fit majority of forks!

Anyone know if the avy cart will work with a 2006 marz 66sl? I'd like to be able to keep travel at 150mm or 160mm at most.

    best maxxis xc tire

The high roller 2.1's are skinny. Much thinner in width than the advantage 2.1's. I liked how HR's performed but ultimately went to the advantage 2.1 because of the larger volume. The advantage 2.1's are a hair smaller than the 2.35 minions dhf and highrollers but lighter.

    CCDB Long Term Review

Nice write up. thanks. I'm curious to know your thoughts on the CCDB compared to the Chubie. Those are the two shocks on the shortlist for my RFX and I'm having a hard time making a decision.
