How to tell if a Hope hub is the XC or Bulb?

The logo just has a date that is presumably the manufacture date. One way is too look at the slope on the hub shell where it transitions from the large diameter section on the cassette side to the smaller diameter center section. On bulbs the slope is shorter and steeper than xc hubs...

    ceramic bearings

What you mean paying a crap load more money for parts which are functionally almost identical to the old ones? Wonder what next years must have product will be for the audiophile wing of the cycling world.

Vista frothing from MIT technology review.....

I see it as a big problem. If an os doesn't make full use of my hardware it's failing one of its fundamental duties. Currently on many 64bit systems windows is not an option if you want to use it to its full potential. With the phenomenal amount of resources Microsoft have it's pretty...

    Vista content protection

Microsoft don't really care along as you go through them. Pay the license fee and agree to their terms etc. Apple would certainly have done this themselves if they where not in direct competition. Someone just licensed wmv for use on linux...

    brembos....cool

The only brake bolts I've rounded out are reservoir cap bolts. Tiny bolts with threads full or brake fluid instead of lubricant probably cause the problems. I've cut slots into plenty of rounded out hope cap bolts. The one place an external hex head would have been an improvement and they use...

    CK ceramic?

If you just spin the axle then the bearings are going to be under very little load. Most of the friction will be coming from the lube and seals not the bearings.

I heard somewhere that SKF have a patent on using a single ceramic ball to crush contamination. Can't find anything on google though.

    html question(s)

You can also use javascript to make emails harder for bots to find. For search engines just make sure they can see the content, don't hide it with javascript, in images or with flash. Modern search engines just use the page content and ignore the description and keyword tags so don't waste...

    ...and divided they fall?

I'm sure it's been going on for as long as these schools have existed. I know it was happening at the roman catholic school where I grew up 15 years ago. I knew several non religious friends that had a really bad time there. The school had a good reputation so a lot of parents would turn a blind...

What about a bike-related question to stop spammers from getting accounts?

Not only that but they are overkill in a lot of cases. If the spammers bot fails to sign up on a single forum they won't bother to work out why. There are thousands of other forums they can spam with no effort. There are lots of ways to break the spammers bots that don't have accessability...

    Webhosting

I switched to http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/ a while ago. You only pay for the data transfer and storage you use. My site is small and it's much much cheaper than paying monthly. $7.50 would keep my site going for at least a year. If you fit in the lowest tier of the pay monthly model and...

Apple Admits iPod Rips off Creative Innovations, Pays Creative $100M USD

The whole idea of innovation with mp3 players is bit suspect. Especially in the early years technology was the real limitation. Any 13 year old with an intreast in technology could come up with the ideas. It was just a matter of waiting for technology to catch up and make the ideas possible.

Any of you remember this slalom hardtail?

My memory of the time is pretty hazy but wheren't they infamous for being too light and constantly breaking? According to local legend the british rider that rode them (Ashton?) went through a massive number of frames.

    Audio monkeys... Earbuds?

The E2c warrently appears to be used a lot. Mine suffered the same fate as these. Probably best to avoid them if they are going to get beat up.

    Where to start

You shouldn't have to do anything to get a quiet system. My mini-itx system is cooled by a single 40mm fan on the processor. Fanless powersupplies have more than enough juice especially if you use laptop drives. Cases should be ready to run straight out the box, no need to add fans.

Patching a tire with Home made patches .

Buying patches in bulk saves quite a bit of money and a box of 100 lasts me a long time. I find tapered patches work better than homemade ones especially if you get caught out and have to ride with a flat tyre.
