I'm slack, old, and don't really like riding in mud anyway!:D
I shall await the arrival of the Tubeless ready 2.3 version with baited breath! :thumb:
It sounds like these two tyres are exactly what I was after for my Sanction.
Now, should I run Ardents, HRIIs, or one of each?
And...
So its a better trail tyre for a retarded plough DH rider?
I didn't like the "original" 2.25 Ardent for the same reason I don't like the original High Roller, vague transition from centre to side knobs, very confidence sapping when you're not sure if there is going to be anything there...
Dammit, "must spread rep around" etc blah blah...
Genius comment.:thumb:
I'm still not convinced about 650b, I can ride a 26" bike just fine, and I'm to much of a carny midget for a 29er!:weee:
The last 29er I rode was horrible, felt like driving an old Kombi van compared to my last...
What he said.
Also look at what MX bikes do people, needle roller bearings, and spherical rod end thingys on the shock.
No shortage of side loadings there, all dealt with nicely with a thrust bearing/ bush setup.:thumb:
And on another note, dont Turner still use bushings in their bikes, I've...
I would be looking for anything other than the rack causing the bearing wear, after all teh rack cant apply anywhere near the force that you can while riding the bike, so how can it wear the bearings?
If it could wear them at all they wouldn't last 5 minutes* when riding!!
*...
Not a DH bike, but its as close as I have in a ride-able condition right now, stupid mortgage!:D
It is fun on the downs though, and it goes up better then I can.
I've got 5 bulging discs, all the L ones in fact, I still ride.
I haven't been DHing for a while, cos of bike maintenance issues mostly, but I reckon I should be ok.
My "racing" days are over though.:(
I need them all replaced with fancy ceramic and titanium bits, which I cant afford at...
Not just a fork, a Shiver, durp.:weee:
The above statement is to be taken with a bucket of salt, as I own a Shiver, with a Stratos ID cart in one side.
Which did make the super plush beast a much better performing fork under brakes, and pretty much everywhere else as well, cos as others...
Would a hug help?:p
Clothes on of course.
Or a beer?:thumb:
Ahem anyway, I've been pointed in the direction of the Velocity P35, which looks exactly like the rim I want.
http://www.velocitywheels.com/store/product.asp?pID=57&cID=22
Wide as a wide thing, and not as heavy as RC's...
So, how wide a rim would you recommend for a 2.40 Highroller 2 front 2.40 Ardent rear combo, on a 150mm trail bike?
Both ends EXO sidewall folding bead, running tubeless conversion on some old beat-up DT 6.1's, which are not light. And they're on old Hugi FR hubs which are also very...
