I built up a touring/road/shenanigans rig a few months ago with a Pinion 12. I like it enough so far that I'll build my next AM hardtail up with one.
For a squishybike, I think that the inboard internal hub (a la Lahar/Zerode) with high pivot is the way to go. Using a Pinion for a design like...
The safest thing to do would be to smoke them, and serve them as a part of a well-rounded breakfast.
(I've actually had baby before, but it was in Asia, and an accident.)

I know this is a problem while running the Maxle-light throughaxle. Something about the hub-axle not being supported properly...
Is that the case on your bikes?

I still use my Roach jacket/vest I bought off her back in 94 or 95... Fookin indestructable.
All my favorite riding gear has been old-school Roach, and it's all still going strong.
