Well, you gotta go with what you can stomach. I have had a bit of experience with endurance racing so I knew what I could eat.

After each lap you MUST force yourself to eat. ABSOLUTE MUST!! Whether you feel like it or not, I hope you hear my voice in your head(even though you have no idea what it sounds like).

After each lap I would eat something below:
Pasta with a little chicken breast
Bread or bagel with peanut butter
Mashed potatoes
Drink at least 16 ounces of sunny delight, or gatorade.
Also good is chicken broth or noodle soup (good for friggin morning laps)

You have about a 30 minute window when your body is best at taking in carbos and regenerating so eat right away.

Before each lap I would drink one bottle of cytomax. Depending on how far apart your lap times you may need to eat something before your lap too. Just remember the whole puke factor. Give your body about 1.5 -2 hours to digest the food before you race.

I would recommend that you don't eat bananas before you race. They are a nasty visual for other riders, when they don't stay down.

I made Bean and Cheese burritos for the team NUMB guys in Moab but I would not reccommend this because you might offend A LOT of riders who are behind you They ate PB&J, burritos, pasta etc... and they ate immediately after every lap.

I can eat em Heidi is lacking the sausage enzymes she needs to break down complex foods.

I eat PB&J, Bean Burritos, energy drinks and water. I slam a GU just before each lap.

Although at Moab after I wrecked my hand I kinda resorted to beer and turkey jerky

Heh, heh, heh! I've been waiting to enter my first post and that was the perfect subject. Processed banana, blech!

My name probably doesn't make sense, because I wasn't able to post the picture I wanted. 100 posts? We'll see if any comedy movie fans remember who Lady Litton was.

Hardly anyone checks the 24 Hour message board. There are quite a few movie buffs in the Mountain Bike lounge, they'd know for sure.

She wouldn’t admit it but I was curious why she was so active on my puke thread.
