The shape of things to come...

I buillt myself a rigid fork.
It uses streamline 4130 tubing (think Top Fuel dragster wing struts...).
This is to go with a custom frame I've been working on for over a year now. Someday I'll get it finished.

You guys are a nice bunch, I thought you might like a look.

Very nice work on the welds. How did you jig it up?

Glad you like it. Not sure on color choice if any yet.

Fixtured by machining the streamline profile into 6061 clamping blocks mounted to the fixture plate. Steerer tube in a V block also mounted to the fixture plate. Indicated everything, tacked in sequence.

Most material I already had on the shelf. I don't build bikes, but I suppose I could.

Awesome work.
I have seen some of the bike parts you have created posted on Tonic's blog.

Greg,

Can you do regular bike MFG's a favor and not post things that put us to shame?

Thanks,

L

Ha Ha...Thanks Landon!

Just so folks know, Landon has been so cooperative during this little project of mine...which I appreciate immensely.

Mad respect for Tonic Fab.

Thanks to all,
Greg

Fiddy,
Yes, it's 430mm a/c., and I made an axle to work with my 20mm hub.

The axle is the easy part.

The bolts are temporary:
