there probably the most hub you can buy for the least amount of money. The sound is great you only hear it when ur pushing the bike up ive never noticed it when riding.

...hmmm I've been thinking about getting these for my FR wheelset... How strong/durable are the rear hubs??? It kind of freaks me out how light they are (361g for a 150mm)...

I guess it's too early to tell since they were just released to the market a short time ago, but how have they held up to abuse, mud, water, side-loading, casing a jump, problems with the hub flange from spoke tention...???

I heard that they engage realy late because they have less engagements but they do have four pawls so i dont know how they compare to other hubs like a ringle

The engagement is not ultra quick, but much quicker than any shimano. And very precise.

I ran a Bulb for almost two years without any problems. I've got another 150mm bulb for my dh bike, but haven't had it long enough to lay claim.

Although HOPE is the only high end hub I will buy at retail.

*edit* the Bulb and the Pro II are nearly the same, they just implemented a few changes from the XC line to lighten it a bit and combine the two models.

I had a problem getting it from my vendor. He kept blowing me off until I drove to his house and demanded my hub.

I am very interested in building up a DH wheelset with these hubs too.
    This is Hope's marketing info:
The all new Pro2 range of hubs include a further development of our proven ratchet mechanism. This features a one piece 7075 aluminium rotor body and pawl carrier. Four pawls engage into a twenty-four tooth steel ratchet which is fixed into the hub shell and is sealed with a frictionless, non contact labyrinth seal. The axle runs on four cartridge bearings. The hub shell is machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aluminium.

So is the rachet mechanism "NOT SO PROVEN"? I have been running nothing but Hadley and DT's for years and I had no problems.

Do the Hopes engage late? Do they have high drag?
