NFL : Perfect Season?

If/when it happens again, who would you want to be that team?

Obviously, I'd want my Dolphins to repeat that feat.

I ask cuz between talent and schedule, it's possible that the Bears could do it this year.

I doubt it would be possible in the modern salary cap era but I wouldn't be upset if the Bears did it. What I really want to see is a Oakland winless season.

The way it looks now, the Bears have as good a chance as any team in a long time. Staying injury free and never having an off game is not an easy task though.

A coach doesn't keep his job by attempting a perfect season, he does it by winning, making the playoffs, and trying to win the championship. In today's game, I think a coach is more likely to rest his starters, or only keep them in for a series or two, during the last few meaningless games than go for the perfect season.

I don't care who does it to be honest.

Eff the Bears. I really have nothing against them but it'll be maddening if that sack Grossman ends up being a good QB for the long haul. Call it sour grapes...

I think the key to a perfect season is who are you going to play.

The 3 hardest games left happen to be consecutive road games against the Giants, Jets, and Patriots, followed by the Vikings at home.

While none of these teams are as good as the Bears, to maintain the winning poise over 4 straight weeks will not be a simple task.

Too bad it will come down to Elam kicking tonight to see if you can pull out the win.

As for a perfect season, I don't see it happening in the modern era. Everyone thought Indy was a lock last year at 11-0 or Denver a few years back at 13-0. Just one little thing goes wrong - fumbled snap, blocked punt, even a bad PI or some other big call and it could all be over.

I wouldn't really mind if the Bears did pull it off though, at least they have couple Penn State guys on the team.

I think Chicago will probably lose to New England not because NE is a better team, but because its on the road and the Bears have two road game at the Giant and Jets the weeks before. If the Bears make it out of those three road games without a loss, they have a very good chance of going all the way.

But hey, any team can beat any other team on the right/wrong day. So Im not banking on it.

Still the Bears have the #1 offense AND #1 defense right now. Say what you want, but they are solid as anyone.

Begrudgingly, I'd have to agree. The Ravens are a much better team since McNair's arrival but they've had a couple squeakers and are, I believe, a more questionable commodity on the road, i.e. the Bears stand a better chance of beating the Ravens on the road than the Ravens stand of beating the Bears on the road.

I honestly do not BELIEVE the Ravens will even make the playoffs. Even still. I say Denver beats them tonite and they drop 7 of their last 11.

I agree, the Bears schedule is pretty damn cake walk. Gotta take advantage of it.
