150mm would be a good limit and plenty of travel.

the 66 is lookin real pimp right now. one thing tho is i got the 1.5 steerer. im leaning towards manitou unless zoke brings out a 1.5 fork for 06. ill also need a new headset and hub then.. time to save up i guess

edit: anyone got any experience with the RS Pike? looks damn slick

Just get a Cane Creek addapter to turn a 1.5 into a 1 1/8 and get a 66. A DC fork isnt needed now adays. You can get a long travel SC for around the same price or cheaper. Make sure to contact IH before you put on a Long Travel fork and make sure you don't void the warrenty.

it already came with a cane creek reducer, the junk ass fork on it is already a 120mm. i doubt jumping to a 150mm will void it but ill double check on it, thx.

a 6" sherman feels PERFECT on this bike. see if you can find an older one with tpc+, and the 1.5s usually go pretty cheap on ebay and are virtually indestructible.

otherwise, the Pike is a very good fork, but not quite as stiff as the Sherman. the 66 is a bit tall, actually its REAL tall, and would probably slacken your HA out a bit too much.

hope this helps! and no, a 6" fork won't void your warranty.

id wait for the new manitou, you know the sc 203mm travel fork? the travis or something like that...

just kidding, no i would go w/ the firefly+, or if ur on a budget (like me) get the sherman flick plus, completly versital can be used on its 150mm settin for huckin, lite DH etc, then you can put it down to 110mm for 4x, dj and ds..
    and it looks cool

ya, Manitou kinda screwed up when they stopped offering a 1.5 (edit: highend) 6" fork. There is a 1.5 tpc+ breakout on ebay right now, though, $200 and hasn't been sold in the past couple weeks.

love the e.13, although I put a 36t ring and guard on it since that pic was taken. can pedal around hilly new england, but not sure that I'd want to do 2000' climbs on it. more of a "stand up and crank your way through something steep" mindset. if you're nervous about that being too rough, you can probably just do a 32t ring and leave it at that. my chimp isn't that heavy (34-35lbs) so that it's not too bad to hit hills with speed. its when you have the heavy 40+pound bikes that you really need the granny.
