Wide bars slow the steering response, short stems quicken it up, so I'm not surprised it feels 'right' It probably feels the same as a 110mm stem with 620mm bars.

Okay, I'm gunna put this out there and see if anyone salutes.

I'm quietly impressed with this frame design and I'm thinking of adding it to the regular line-up. So, my question for the peanut gallery is.....could I offer this design as-is, except with say custom front ends only?

The reason I ask, is that all the custom fabrication on this over and above a 'normal' hardtail makes them an expensive proposition, and I'd like to keep them relatively attainable, without resorting to the horror that is 'limited production'.

Or should I just say 'Screw it, they're 2 grand and you can have whatever you want"?

Oh, and I just saw that Chub Hubs are out for MTBs. I was thinking they might help eliminate any mental reservations I still have about durability for 29er wheels. 'Course, I've seen said on the Internet that any real strength or stiffness gain from the "improved" spoke length/geometry they offer is largely academic.

Any input? I was just about to send my Hopes off for the build but took pause to consider these...

-Warwick's done his tech drawings and ordered stuff to build, but is waiting on those tubes AFAIK.

-While waiting, I have too much time to think. Again wondering if I should go with custom fork or not. And if so, segmented or unicrown and what offset??

-Also thought about that new belt drive system. Decided, "nah." Chains work pretty well.

So yeah, nothin' new except me sitting around thinking. Which is to say nothin' new.
