you need to add negative springs. Don't remember how many. Then just take the springs out, up the oil volume a bit and take the springs out and pump 'er up. Pretty easy really. I did it to a '02 dj 1 as well.

I will let you know that it does work, and you do save weight, but I wouldn't do it. Those forks don't feel that good as it is, let alone moding it like that. Coil feels better. and if you really want to save weight go with something newer that will have a way better ride quality.

Hey.. I was going through old threads and found your post about modding your 2004 boxxer team to use an air spring.. I have a 2004 world cup and was wondering how you did it and if you by any chance have pictures could you please email them to me.. I realise the post was in 2005 so if you dont have pictures then i should be able to get by.. Did the negative spring need any modding? Did u remove the springs completely? Or just use the air as air assist? And how well do the forks hold air? If you could please explain to me how you did it... Sorry about all the questions and everythin.. thanks..
