Building and maintaining a spot gives you the right to act anyway you want at said spot, and Ive never heard of any spot getting torn down due to someone being an asshole. Also, I left my apostrophe off of Ive so you can keep feeling better about correcting grammar in a bike forum. Tool. Where did the word assholishness come from?

The best ones love to do what they do, and take the bad with the good without letting it drive them mad. Freaking out only causes more problems. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and be the bigger man. What's more important, acting like you're hard, or having dirt jumps to ride? For some, it's the former, unfortunately. And the reason for many a spot to be destroyed.
I get what you are saying. When I spoke above, I was speaking out of personal experience with the situations that happen at my spot. flatrls is a trail boss at our spot. When you swallow your pride over and over people begin to take advantage of you. Believe it or not, it takes more than just telling people what to do or what to not do. Most of the "trail ediquette" you and I consider common sense is like another language to the pirates that disrespect the place. Personally, I have freaked out a couple times while at the trails and guess what...everyone stops doing what they are doing and pics up a shovel.

Theres no reason to be an ass for no reason...but when people continually disrespect you, you have to do whats necessary to get it in their head that the trails won't exist if you can't follow the ediquette. When you are the only ones spending money on shovels, rakes, tampers, wheel barrows, tarps, post & chains, and digging for hours on end "till your hands bleed, when people keep rapeing your spot without putting any effort in, leaving their case marks everywhere, skidding, telling people about the spot, thowing trash everywhere, being loud and obnoxious, etc etc......sometimes you just lose it....(run on sentence i know)

In my opionion the trails exist for no other reason than the trail boss' vision, time, and hard work. He has the executive power to do whatever the F$ck he wants...right?

You know the score... You have to draw a line, and be firm. Maybe even law down the law. That's why you need a good TB, one that can use some common sense and deal with issues appropriately. Also guiding others in how to deal with problems.
I have seen firsthand what can happen when some tact is not employed. It sucks if the people let their pride and anger ruin things for everyone.

Hey dudes (aeefertz and flatrls), is there any way I can get you guys to go back in and clean these sh!t posts up? IMO, it spoils the intent of the thread. Seems like it was meant to be informative and it turned into a p!ssing match.

As a former TB myself, I'd appreciate it if people had a spot to go to see the rules and not be inundated with the typical BS you'd find at the trails anyway. JMO

    Thanks for considering
