Which size bike

Hello,

I am an absolute beginner to this. I am just over 6' tall and overweight (My main reason for getting into this).
Being a big guy, I find that both the 18" and 19.5 or 20" frames seem to fit. (I have not ridden in a long time to what will be the most comfortable).

What are others riding that are my size?

I am hoping to get into trail and off road riding. I will likely do a fair amount of road riding with the family...

I would recommend stopping in at a LBS (Local Bike Shop) and ride a few bikes in the sizes you mentioned. Comfort level is REALLY important when selecting a bike and each manufacturer is a little different so try a bunch of different ones!
