    Time X-Roc for DH?

So I did a search and that Bike review came up, as well as an older thread talking about these coming out soon. I'm looking for user reviews... anyone here use them yet? for DH? they any good. I am a long-time Time user on my xc bike. When I got into DH I bought some mallets, but after they wore out (in one season ) I replaced them with flats.

But I've decided I prefer being clipped in for DH and want to pick up some decent pedals. I've had z-pedals in the past, and they're ok, but I like the look of these X-Roc, mainly the slightly smaller and composite body. Which is why i'm looking for user feedback.

I have some older Time DH clipless shoes, so I imagine they will play well with their own pedals...

Beaumont is using Z's. Not sure if that means anything...

After using mallets since the original I switched the TIMEs you're looking into and I can say they work awesome

I think it means he's a pro. and I'm not!

That's why I'm looking for "real world feedback". I forgot to mention: they'd be going on a 2008 Demo 8. I don't know the bb height, but I don't think it's excessively low. Pedal strikes aren't really a common occurrence (though they do happen every run - just not every corner!). I ride in eastern Ontario and Quebec usually. Think Bromont. I still haven't made it to Whiteface, but I will go someday as based on what I've read, that's the kind of riding I like. Rocky and natural.

I loved everything about my Z's except for the fact that I'd regularly break the pedal body on East Coast Rox.
With a lower bb than I had then I wonder how they'd hold up now... I do have a scar, but just one.

I had the body separate from the axle on my x-roc's just trail riding.. Granted I deal with some east coast rox and my bb height is kinda low, but still wasn't happy. Waiting to hear back from them on getting a replacement. Liked them a lot until this happened..

yeah, that's why I like the sound of a composite body. more resilient, or so I've read... I don't know if that's marketing bs though.

I also have an 08 demo. I have custom shock shuttles to lower my bb. And I run 175mm xt's. I got the x roc trails off of chainlove for like 30 bucks. And they have become my favorite clip pedal. I love the pop when I click in. I've had my right knee rebuild twice and the float is perfect for the little bit that my toe is turned out. With my low bb and long cranks I beat the **** out of them. I've got gouges in my cranks but my pedals look pretty good. I've been so impressed I got rid of all my spd pedals and put the times on my am and road bike.
Willing to trade my girlfriend, for any decked out superco.

03 dh comp that is low and slack.

I've been running Zs for years. They are all still going strong despite many rock strikes. Tried Mallets and killed 2 pairs before going back to Times for good.

I was an SPD guy for 16 years until I got Xrocs this past winter.

I like. SPD now feel quite clunky to me.

They're running strong still, 0 issues (but there are very few rocks in SC)

I use them with 510 Maltese Falcons (which I also like)

Any update on people running the X-Roc for DH? They sound pretty solid from the above replies.

Mine has held up really good, although i do ride a v10 so they havent had to many close encounters with rocks. The mechanism is still super solid and they give a nice and lound ring when clipping in and out.
