No going downhill will cause your balls to explode....go up.........

Aside of that I say classifieds....most DJ style hardtails will handle a all mountain urban setup... be a little cramped but will work. Steel is stronger than aluminum, aluminum is lighter .

Pinkbike classifieds DJ section maximum of $600 in search criteria and start shopping....

Having owned a P.1 and P.2 I would say if it is your goal to use it for trail riding, especially rocky terrain I would steer clear. They are definitely geared more towards urban riding and have more of a big BMX bike feel versus a mountain bike feel. The short wheelbase can make the steeper and rockier terrain a little more difficult and less enjoyable.

If your looking for a hardtail trail bike capable of jumping and more aggressive riding check out the Santa Cruz Chameleon, Transtion Trans AM, Chromag has quite a few.
