Gwin vs 9.9 vs Demo
Now I know that Gwin could ride anything fast...
But,can someone give me the ride characteristics of the 2 bikes?Im sure he'll get any changes that he wants, but the 9.9 and the demo seem to be custom made for Hill and Gwin, respectively.
I've dorked around on a demo once or twice, but just did not get it at all.Of course I'm so used to a VPP now, anything else dosent really feel right, anymore.
Maybe they are closer than I think.Maybe I just think the 9.9 is way to sexy to leave for a bike with spare swing arms.
..Probably the last one
Of course, cash is sexy too,and I guess you don't have to look at the back of the bike when you're riding ,either.

Jesus christ, are you STILL injured?
Strava: turn off your dork logger when you're not on sanctioned trails, numbnuts.

I will preface this by saying I'm drunk.

The Session existed for 3 years before Gwin started riding it, since then there have been extremely minor changes in terms of adjustability (flips chips, big deal) but that's about it. Sure they added a carbon frame, but that doesn't equate to it being tailor made to anyone in particular. Guess their marketing dept should a get a little credit after all.
And what Hack said. Biggest differences are the one we make up.

They added 1cm of rear wheel travel, slackened the head angel and changed the leverage ratio for better square edge absorption.
More important is the way shorter rear on the Demo which makes it iversteering more.
But yeah, that dude is fast on everything.
And if he wants a longer chainstay or a third seat stay, he will get it.

...More so than most people realize (or Trek ever publicized)
From what I've been told, Aaron had quite a bit of feedback on the Session, and to Trek's credit, they instituted a lot of those changes. AG had already left Yeti by the time I showed up here, but there are plenty of stories about how hands-on he was with the development of the bikes we designed for him (early variants of our 303 World Cup).

Would be interesting to hear what he thinks of Sam's "baby".

Yes, because it allows them to justify buying the next big thing 'hands on designed by xxxxx xxxxxxxx' or whoever their favourite rider is.

They might have minor geo tweaks. That wouldn't surprising. But unlikely that those things show up on production bikes.

No,they just yank a bike off the shelf and tell them to make it work. The big name racers have 0 input on bike geometry and suspension. Its all engineers and cad drawings. They just watch free caster clips and make a bike from that.
Anything not "off the shelf"is custom, dip wad.
