determining which Fox fork I have? Need help

I bought a fork from a buddy and he couldn't tell me much about it... I know it is a Fox 36 Van, but not sure what year or how much travel.

Inside the arch there is an "07" molded into teh brace... Is that 2007?

So did they make a 150mm Van in 07? Or does it have to be 160mm?

I'll post some pics in about an hour.

I have seen date stamps used on stuff for the next year if they had not made any changes to the design

How would they know that in advance?
Example... It is 2011 right now. I'm producing forks... Would I actually print 2012 on them? that is pretty bold since who knows what will happen in the next year.

Does it have QR flaps for the thru-axle on the lowers or pinch bolts?

I would hope you know whats in the works for the next year, the year after, and probably the year after that too.

At any rate, I think the number usually goes backwards - eg, its 2011 now, you introduced a fork in 2010 that you made no changes to, so you label it a 2010.

The stamp is the year the lowers were built in, irrespective of the model year it's being sold as.

They never made a 150mm Vanilla. The first 36 was the Talas in '05, which had 150mm of travel, then the Vanilla came out in '06 with 160mm.

LOL... ok, so then it appears that I have a 160mm fork then and it was made in at least 2007 or later? That is hilarious since my buddy sold it to me bc he wanted to upgrade from 150mm to 160... so he sold me this fork for $100 and bought a 2010 Lyric.

You could always measure how much stantion is showing. I know certain models of Specialized Enduros had 150mm 36 forks OEM. I think most of those were Floats, but you never know.

Just reread this, sorry it didn't make much sense. I was doing to many things at once.

    Good score on the fork
