The Communist Party of The United States of America, CPUSA, is
publicly supporting the election of John Kerry.
No, this is not a typo...you read it correctly. The CPUSA has made
available on its Web site, http://www.cpusa.org/, an advertisement entitled
Top Ten Reasons To Defeat Bush. This advertisement can be downloaded. The communist party urges readers to place this ad in local newspapers throughout the country to defeat President Bush.

.... and their top ten reasons are:
1. Bush is destroying workers rights and outsourcing jobs instead of protecting the right to organize and creating new jobs rebuilding schools, bridges, roads and hospitals
2. Bush is privatizing Medicare, Social Security and public education with phony reforms instead of enacting health care for all, protecting retirement funds and full funding for public education through college.
3. Bush is bankrupting the Federal Government with giant tax cuts for the very rich and super-funds to the military instead of securing the budget for human needs by taxing the rich and spending on human needs.
4. Bush is rolling back civil rights gains instead of enforcing and expanding affirmative action to end racism in all areas of life.
5. Bush is curtailing women's rights and choice by undermining Roe v. Wade instead of upholding the right to choice and ending the gender wage gap.
6. Bush is abusing immigrant workers in low-wage jobs instead of providing a clear path to citizenship and equal rights.
7. Bush is exploiting and ruining the environment by protecting corporate polluters instead of conserving our natural resources for the public good.
8. Bush's war in Iraq is a disaster for our security and economy. He is pushing for more preemptive wars and for first strike nuclear military policy instead of negotiations and cooperation utilizing the UN.
9. Bush is denying civil liberties and free speech in the name of fighting terrorism instead of repealing the USA Patriot Act and helping cities, towns and states fund firefighters and police.
10. Bush discriminates against Gays and Lesbians with a Constitutional Amendment instead of expanding civil rights and liberties for all.
.... hmmm, sounds about right to me. What's your point?

this is the case of "I would rather die shot than slowly burned to death".
they would support anybody, but bush.
or do you think because they are commies everybody gotta hate-fear them?? are they gonna cause you aids-cancer if you get to close???
an interesting underlying satanization of communism in your post.
commies, and ultra-capitalists are all the same crap, believing they have a good system, when both are doomed since they both rely on humans not commiting excess.

Seems like those communists might have their heads on straight.

Not surprising. While meeting with the Communists in 1971 trying in vain to get POW's freed the VC used tapes of Kerry bad mouthing the US to toture the same POW's he was trying to free. His actions after Veit Nam could be seen as treason since he was still considered a inactive reservist
Well DUH!
Of course the commies (and every other fring odd-ball group) is supporting sKerry...
I'm sure he's PETA's golden boi too... and ELF's.... etc...
All the more reason to vote Bush.

How is that? The VC knew that they had every thing to gain by having the head of a anti war group in their country to try to negotiate while they never had any intention to give up any POW's. Kerry was used as a pawn by the communists and his statemwnts were used against our soldiers just like Hanoi Jane.

it strikes me as exceedingly odd, to say the least, that you fixate on kerry speaking out against the vietnam war. it is stranger yet that this somehow makes it plausible in your mind that the american communist party in 2004 "supports Kerry" even without mentioning him, by its issuance of 10 reasons to vote bush out of office...

Kerry's whole life in politics seems to have been set up. And his unknowing support or aid to the communists in the past makes it all the more "manchurian" to me. This is the first time I have every really mentioneds Kerry's military record before as it was so far in the past. But it does seem funny that he gets this support now.
I doubt it is enough to swing the election it is just a strange coincidence.

Well if anyone has the right to speak out against the war in vietnam, it is someone who actually went there and didn't avoid millitary service in an active theatre.
The only reason these groups support Kerry, is that he isn't bush. Although sort of ironic that the communist party is supporting anyone in democratic elections to begin with, they are pretty spot on with their deconstruction of bush now aren't they?
Also from what I knwo fo the American "Communist party" They are more socialist then anything else. Hell they are supporting creation of capitalist jobs in America...The revolution will not occur until ALL of the worlds countries industrialize, so shouldn't they be supporting the outsourcing of jobs to the periphery? Crazy confused socialist bastards don't even know their own 3 laws or communist economic principles.

Are you actually trying to make a connection between the American Communist Party and the Viet Cong? Wow.
Do you realize that's like claiming that socialist Norway and the former USSR were in cahoots?

That is quite apparent. My guess is that they are mostly trustafarians.

I posted it because I thought it was somewhat odd that the Communist party would want anything to do with any candidate that wishes to keep this Nation a democracy.
The only gripe I might have is if the Communist party is making significant donations to the Kerry campaign. Have no idea if this has occured or not. But what I do know is that organizations make donations MAINLY because the expect something in return from the candidate once elected. I would not want any president "owing" anything to the Communist party.
