simplified thread status icons?

instead of cryptic envelopes of various shades of grey and yellow (ex: http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/skynetimages/statusicon/thread_dot_hot.gif) can we have clearer thread status icons?

the attached image, from MacNN forums, another vBulletin board, shows what i am talking about. from the top we have:

a thread that i have posted in that has a new reply (red + dot)
a thread with more than 15 responses (not very useful imo)
a thread with less than 15 responses (ditto)
another thread that i've posted in with a new reply
and a thread that i've posted in that doesn't have any new replies

eh until I'm doing this as my day job I just dont have time for stuff like this. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
