These trails in Mukilteo...are they just east of the ferry docks in that greenbelt area? I used to ride a road bike thru that area when I 'lived' in Everett, but have never been near there since the MTB bug bit.

Intrigued, I am.

I think so, but I really don't know my way around up north at all. From what I gather there are two areas of trails with the train tracks spliting them down the middle.

Great area for night rides for sure :thumb:

Excellent. I think I have heard of that area from somebody when I was at SST or something. I need to drag my unemployed butt up there some weekday soon and check it out.

Yeah, nightriding season is at hand. :dancing:

So you finally got out there? Woo Hoo!
The Gulch has been around for a long, long time. Yet, for some reason it just flies under the radar.
Mostly (IMHO) it's because it's too burly for the St. Ed's crowd.
A good place for Northenders to get thier after work fix. For sure.
Yes, in the drainage just North of Paine Field and the North end's version of SST. Probably 14-16 miles of trail evenly split by the tracks. Don't get busted crossing them.
I'll have to go looking for that picture of the truck teeter. The first insanely burly stunt I ever saw. EvilB remembers that one...
Warning: get's really really slimy especially on the North side in the winter(clay, Oly's favorite thing.) and lots o' nettles in the mid summer months.

Snacks! You beat me to it...hehehe. I was sipping my morning coffee with the intention of posting the same thing :)

Thanks Evilbob for showing me a side of the gulch I hadn't found yet in my own exploration of the area! What fun riding :D.

I think it's time to call the shop and go "puhlease order me a pretty, nice, bright new head lamp!"

Excellent time and conditions last night. First ride with any monkeys since I got broken. Thanks! :thumb: Just wait until we get out there with the lights and the best will be when it snows. Night rides in the JG when it snows are the best, super cool!

There is a section, close to the truck teeter totter that started with a couple small drops into a hairpin with jumps which traverses a hillside. The trail then ends where you turn and drop to meet the downslope towards the tracks. A very fun section. Last I was there I saw some unfinished elevated stuff. I wonder...

I thought Japanese Gulch was shut down. Did all of the stunts just get removed? I used to ride there a lot, but I haven't been there in over a year or so.

There were several bikers out there doing a night ride last Thursday night. The evil bobinator showed us what stunts still stand, the dirt jumps, etc.

It looks like maybe the boss people of the land throw their weight around a bit when the building gets too big, but otherwise leave the smaller and well built stuff alone....

Then of course there's the mushrooms  I'm half tempted to bring a cloth bag this time and collect a few samples to figure out what all was there...
