Singlespeed question

Hello,

I was wondering if I can take an 01 Shimano LX crank and take off the big and small chainring and use it as a singlespeed crank? Can the rings come off? Response much appreicated.

Yes, the rings come right off with a 5mm allen key. I am running an '00 LX (square taper) on my SS right now with the middle ring and a bashguard. Works great :)
