Pedals in a pinch: Wellgo B-38 (pic) OK or trash?

I need need cheap backup pedals NOW, are these wellgos for $25 OK, or will they crumble? I broke the axle in half on my old Atomic Trailpimps yesterday and want to order a cheap pair of pedals to backup whatever else I end up buying. Any suggestions?

i don't have any longterm use of wellgo pedals.so... i'm gonna kinda derail your thread.
you might want to lookinto getting some spare pedal axles. i've thoguh about this for a while but never called up any of the companies to see if i can get some extra axles.
best pedals i've used: tioga sealed
second best and more heavy: haro bigblocs. these are cheaper then the tiogas but heavier and not as nice with pin placemet options.


at $25, the wellgos look halfway decent, i have yet to hear anything bad about the wellgos and they seem good for that pricerange

I've got a pair of 37's and they are great. Granted, I haven't had them for long, but the platform is nice, and the pins are replaceable. Mine aren't sealed, but they seem to be doing well. I say go for it.

Most of the other pedals out there are made by Welgo anyway.

Just get BMX pedals, they are marketed cheaper and burlier.

The A frames are pretty nice. I've used them for half a season and really like them. They can be found for 40 online, and a lot of my buds team mates have been using them with good results on Speed Metal.

mine work great (b-38), picked them up because they were cheap and have stuck with them.

hey i have used the b-37's and the mg-1's. both of these pedals are great. the 37's lasted me for about 2 years, the mg-1's are their replacements and all i got to say is that the mg-1's are superlight(feel like haft the weight of normal pedals) and have stood up to me punishmnet for about 6-7 months now with no problem

btw the supergo weyless pedals are wellgo pedal even to the point that the name corrisponed

Not only are they not trash, but they're good pedals.

I don't worry about good bearings and crap, because I break the pedal body or tear the pins out and strip/mangle the pin seats in the process within a few months of getting new pedals anyhow...at least with flats. So I went back to clips. But Wellgos were generally great pedals, and they make everyone else's anyhow. Get 'em.

Mine only lasted a week, and they weren't ridden that hard. I purchased some Azonic pedals and haven't had any problems since.

I have some B38's. I am 215lbs and in about 2.5 years they havent given me any problems. I cant remember ever having my feet slip. I havent used any other pedals so I cant say if anything is better, but I certainly cant fault them at all

I have those under the Diamondback name. Cheap, big platform, grippy, cheap.

I have 1 set I got for $5 off ebay under the diamondback name and another set i got for $9 with the wellgo badge. They are awesome pedals. Been using both for about a year, one set on my ht and the other on my dh bike.
