looking for a new fork to replace a psylo. this'll be going on a ridgeback frame. i'm looking at the vanilla 125 r or a z1 drop off II.

my main concern with the zoke is that it's a good bit heavier than my psylo, and i like the front of my bike being light seeing as how i only weight 145 pounds. it's also a little longer than the psylo, and that'll relax the bike more, which i think i'd like. i'd be buying new.

i like how light the fox is. i really like how light it is. however, i've also heard it's not as reliable as the marzocchi (though either will be a step up from the psylo). it's also 1 cm shorter than the psylo which which is going to make the bike feel twitchier, and since i think my bike could be a bit more stable already, i don't think i like that. i'd be buying used.

both should cost about the same. so...which do i go with?

Personally I'd go with the fox but either will be an improvement over your psylo.

Fox. For sure. You won't be able to run an 8" rotor but the performance of the Fox is miles above the SSVF valving in the Drop-Off. I'm assuming you have a line on a Fox that will cost the same amount as the Marzocchi.

Fox. Stiff, light, smooth and (though possibly not as good as marz) reliable. I had one for a while and loved it. Have a TALAS now and love that.
